You are funny, Les has brought LSU to the top of the college football world for the first time in LSU history. And all of you arm chair offensive guru think he is stupid the man has the best winning % in LSU history do you not realize that. OH I know you, you are the 40000 people that show up at tiger stadium and question every call after the play is over LMAO. You people just can't enjoy the fact that LSU is in the National Spotlight every year in football, lets go back to the Jerry D. days or better yet lets summons Curly to make some offense calls lets win 6 games and go to Shrevport and play some nobody U people make me sick.

Nick did that.

Les is a good enough coach, but he's not paid to be a good coach, he's paid to be one of the absolute best coaches in all of CFB. When you get that salary, you are subjected to higher expectations and standards than just "not being Curly."

Les has done great things at LSU, but screwing up one of the easiest situational coaching decisions in all of football at the end of the game the other night was just not one of them.

You seem really angry that people aren't more happy about a football team that just lost to Clemson and is 1-3 in it's last four bowl games. LSU sure is in the spotlight right now, but not for the right reasons. If you're willing to accept "good, but not great" that's cool. Some of us aren't, and we also don't have some weird complex where we are willing to settle for less than excellence just because LSU was trash for so long.

Very good - somebody took a statistics class!

Here's some more statistical information:

Jeremy Hill had 1 TD per 6 carries in the game, but zero touches in the 4th quarter.

Jeremy Hill had 7 carries in the 3rd quarter for 88 yards and 1 TD for a 12.5 yard average. Take out his long run of 57 in the 3rd quarter and he still averaged 5+ yards per carry in the 3rd quarter (and 6+ for the game as someone else mentioned). Yet, Hill had zero carries in the 4th quarter while LSU gained that big 1 yard in the final quarter.

Statistics.

Coaching.

No offense CC but 85-21 is better than "good enough" it is great any program in college football would take that record with 1 national championship and 2 Sec crowns with a another showing in national championship game. What do you want LSU is never ever been this good in football.

I think he does his job well. He has exceeded the expectations set forth by the fans, the program itself, and pollsters a grand total of 1 time in his years here. He's about met expectations most years. He's only had 1 year that was truly something resembling a disaster.

It's a testament to him that he has kept the expectations so high.

None of that means he didn't completely screw up the end of the game the other night.

You are stuck on the fact that coaching lost the game, I totally disagree. Mett had a jr.high throw to make and he did not make it cut and dry. Clemsons last drive LSU had them 4th and long and LSU all american Safty did not make the play the players lost that game not the coaching.

So you're saying you don't want the team to be better? Weird attitude for a fan.

Did the coaching cause LSU pass blocking to break down on almost every throw. Big EZ you must of not ever played the game, coaching gets to much of the credit when you win and to much of the blame when you lose. I no I am wasting my time on this, but it was clear that Clemson was winning the battle in the trenches (dominating the line of scrimage) and they had 9 in the box on LSU last drive. Running the ball would have gave LSU no chance of a first down. The play was called to boot Mett the wide out was wide open the throw was so easy big ez could have made it no doubt but he chocked like a chicken thats what lost the game.

Look, speckled trout, my brother, I know you're just kidding obviously with saying stuff like Saban couldn't hold Les Miles' jock. I get it...

LSU did have more problems than just that last series. Clemson is a good team and basically dominated them in a lot of ways.

The players played a part in that obviously. But for those who can't see, you don't depend on your QB (who didn't have a very good game) to ice the W for you. You give it to the guy who has been the difference maker in the game (and for the year). It's an easy decision (for 99% of the people out there). You give it to him and run that clock out making Clemson use those timeouts.

ESPN guys basically said it was the stupidest play calling they've seen. They're not affiliated with LSU in any way and don't even care if we win.

Yea of course I want them to do better, but bashing a coach that brings you to a record of 85-21 can not be good for recuriting or anything else. Your question make no sense??

Recruits don't give a frick what people on here say and I'm not saying anything that actual members of the media aren't saying in much more public forums. I want to be better. The offense has sucked for years, and it needs to get fixed, and I expect the guy who makes 4 mil a year to run the team to improve it. I don't care who the damn coach is, I just want them to have a functional offense, and if Miles can get that done then I'd be delighted to see him stay.

That's the funniest thing you've said. Les said it too, but he was serious.

If LSU runs, Clemson would have had to kill those timeouts they used after we sacked them early in their final drive and later on before they were in FG position. The game would have been over because the clock would have been at 00:00.

I'm a double amputee, so I probably would have completed it.

Kidding...just trying to keep up with your jokes.

Your facts or way off the 13-1 team ran the ball better than any team in LSU history and that was without a QB. This years team had a QB that has never started a SEC game, look back at all the great QB in SEC history there first year they almost all sucked. They have strugled on offense no doubt, but your record is what matters 84-21.

Look at all of the shitty QBs in SEC history and all of them sucked too in their first year too. And there are more shitty ones than great ones so if a QB sucks in his first year he is more likely to keep sucking than to become great.

Also, the 2007 team had a higher YPC and more total yards with the same number of TDs as the 2011 team.
