The sequence is on page 6 of yesterday's game thread.

I know the arm soreness is the hot topic here but once it reaches the point of soreness and they get shut down, where have the mistakes been? Jake Latz was on odd saga that had a lot to do with his parents wanting to try odd remedies. Besides Cory, the arm specialist is Dr. Field who is also excellent in did my TJ surgery. My recovery was overseen by both Cory and Beau Lowery. These guys are getting excellent care.

I don't disagree with any of that, but that's at least something worthy of discussion. I'm not one of those that thinks kids with arm issues has much if anything to do with Paul specifically or are even the fault of anyone at LSU. But it's at least something that has presented itself. Paul playing people hurt on purpose is just too stupid to even acknowledge IMO

Yes, it is. And for years, not just with Gio this season. Trainers are expected to be able to determine if a player is being candid or bluffing about an injury. The LSU baseball trainer isn’t doing a good job of that.
Who else was brought back early? And we have someone here who is saying the staff knew he wasn’t 100% before the game and PM just wasn’t honest in the pre game. Who to believe?

Kids play while nursing injuries all the time. But I will say it would be odd to rush a hamstring with so much season left.

I didn’t want to cheat after he complimented me. I let him down.

Really the only one that comes to mind is Walker during the CWS. But that was a really weird situation all around. He felt forearm tightness, then it went away during his BP session, then it returned during his start. The training staff thought it was a muscle issue when it happened.

Ha! I didn't watch any of yesterday's game so that was my only source.

Right, I guess this is where the injured v hurt thing comes into play. Like when Blake Dean played with a hurt shoulder in 2009. He wasn't going to hurt himself worse by hitting, but he would have by throwing, which is why he had surgery in the offseason.

But that didn’t put Walkers career or season in jeopardy. If he goes and it’s fine or not fine doesn’t impact him or the season. There were so few games left and shutting him down wouldn’t change anything with prognosis. With him saying he was good, and even looking good in the bullpen, I can’t really blame anyone for that start.

He had surgery to try and prove he could throw again and PM promised him a position on the field. We did part of our recovery together. His surgery was way after mine but you’re shutdown for the first 4 months or so with TJ.

May see something similar with Beck? Just let him blow it all the way out at some point? They've been tight lipped about the actual injury, so I don't really know what to expect.

Beck gains nothing with a surgery right now. His only option is to try and rehab and hope for a miracle quick healing which is rare but happens. My assumption is that it’s a partial tear like mine was. I spent 3 months trying to rehab the tear before I gave in and went with surgery. But I tore mine during fall ball so I had some time to try that first.

I'm aware. I'm just acknowledging that yes, guys do play hurt, but not in the sense that playing may reasonably lead to hurting themselves worse. We've seen plenty of players hit when they couldn't throw. Travinski, for example.

Also Cole Freeman played the entire 17 post season with a hand injury that required surgery after the season. Kids play hurt

Looked like he was running to 2nd and had to reverse course quickly to avoid being doubled up. one can strain a hammy that way even if completely healthy...especially since he’s proven he can hurt his hammy doing something no more risky as that. Some guys are just prone to soft tissue injuries.

True. But guys play through back pain (Reid) or sprained fingers (Freeman) too. It’s not limited to guys who would just hit.

Beck doesn't have a future in baseball, so I agree that I'd prob just try to rehab and see what happens.
