OMG, so now we are going to give Saban the credit for any success the NEXT guy might have too?

What if he just doesn't give a frick what you think? He only has to be accountable to those who pay his paychecks. He's making money for his opinions whether you agree with him or not. BTW- who the frick do you think you are that he should be "accountable" to? And the only thing Lester Earl has "owned" in this thread is a butthurt attitude and a computer. We all see the problems, we just differ on how to best deal with them. And unless you get the head coaching job...or any job remotely related to LSU football that pays your rent-you are just an opinion on a fan board.

Also remember that Miles makes 'head coaches'. Good assistants WANT to come work for the guy.

LSU is not the same as it once was. LSU has its recruiting advantages as displayed by $abun and MIles. Top notch coaches will want to come here. IT IS A PREMIER HC JOB
A lot of people agree with this. Explain how Coach Miles was hired then?
Hang tough, Coach! Beat the Gators!

I will rebut your responses if I may, in the same fashion you replied to me.

the state pays what $300,000 of Less' salary? Ath dept. and even further TAF would probably pay the buyout...
-------------------------------------------------
The TAF is not going to piss away that kind of money in this economic environment with the academic needs of the school so much at the forefront. That would be "dumber" than any of Les Miles' actions, and LA would become a bigger laughingstock for placing such a premium on running off a winning coach while University coffers are empty and debts are unpaid.

What OC would come in knowing that if they didn't turn it around this year, the HC and probably they themselve would be looking for a job after the season.. IMO it would be a lot easier to bring in a new HC, he knows he would have at least a 3 year window...
-----------------------------------------------
Chavis came after the dual corrdinator experiment. Give Les credit for that. Plenty of OCs have enough ego and hunger to make a name for themseelves at LS f.....ing U. And.... they are a helluva a lot cheaper, even if Crowton had a buyout

not near as much as most of you make is sound.. $3 mil a year would make em forget or ignore...

I'm not going to repeat myself about the money, and you still haven't given a name, if you've done the search, name your preferred coach

but he didn't when he should have. He had the WR coach resign and the RB coach took a HC position and that was supposed to fix it...
------------------------------------------------
Not so. The WR coach resigned under pressure from an investigation concerning inappropriate recruiting or something. Miles gave Crowton another year under his contract and brought in Billy Gonzales. So far, this is not looking like the right move, but none of us are paid to make that decision or know the intricacies of the relationships involved. I will eat my words if LSU fails to win a Championship and Crowton isn't pink slipped.

very few "sure things", but there are some very good coaches that would absolutely do no worse than Less...

And they are not LSU's coach, and I see no viable way that they will become LSU's coach and they still remain nameless

what guarantee you have with Less? more clock mis-management? if you want a short list, use the search function.. theres usually a thread a week with peoples "short lists"...
-------------------------------------------------
There is no guarantee except what is stipulated in Miles' contract. System President Lombardi approved it, and it is being honored by both parties. Whether we could do better in some dreamland scenario is not the point. The point is there are viable solutions to problems and ther are short-sighted unrealistic ones. Don't hold your breath waiting for Miles' firing. The only way that happens is if the wheels absolutely come flying off "Georgia Bull Dawg" style and Lombardi swallows his pride and authorizes a change. GOod luck with that!

Pretty good post. I'm not 100% sure Crowton is calling all of the offense....what if Miles is all over the current, ineffective offense???

So true but like 90% of those with huge post counts, his actual football experience consists of posting here and playing X-Box.
Lester care to give us your football credentials?
While your at it,explain keys to defending the triple option and toss in some coaching tecniques for corner backs.
The Maxipad guy needs to be ignored as he seems to be severely mentally ill.Possible severe depression which often accompanies latent homosexuality.

This guy has been defending Miles for so long he's no longer able to objectively judge the situation...
I realized this when I heard him get Annihilated on the Finebaum show earlier this year...
That said, I agree that a Miles without Crowton is better than Miles with Crowton.

Oh, and if you pay it, I'll gladly stop posting my opinion. On my computer.

Doesn't matter who the of is if miles handcuffs them and won't let them play they want to.

of course, when you have no rebuttal, you have to attack me.
How about offering some insight on the topic?
I am not butthurt at all. But if you are going to write a small article like this, at least get your facts straight
.

We all see the problems, we just differ on how to best deal with them.
how would you deal with them?
Everything goes back to the head coach, regardless of what you might think.
To clock management, to the offensive coordinator, to the playcalling, to the personnel, it all goes back to Les Miles.
So I'd love to know what your theory is.
Keep the clueless head coach and let him try and fix the problems he has cause over and over? The guy who can't even manage the game clock when the game is on the line???

Yeah, lets entrust THAT guy!!
