Lester Earl just owned this thread. His post deserves a sticky.

Yep, by Katy Perry herself. Actually, LE makes a solid case and is nowhere near a rantard as way too many others on here. Would you care to argue 5-0? How about 6-0 after Sat night? Yeah, I'm pumpin' sunshine!
PS: Jerry's dead and I just saw Further. Best damn Dead cover band ever!

his is why I have so much cognitive dissonance about Miles.
you really think he is a "great disciplinarian"?
RP was involved in couterfeiting money....going into a casino with a fake ID....failed drug test...got into a fight at a bar where he allegedly pulled a gun....missed team meetings and classes......All this happened before he got booted.
Meanwhile, lesser profile athletes on the football team got the boot after 1 altercation off the field. We can start naming names if you would like, but just take my word for it.

, he has a fantastic graduation rate.
LSU graduation rate was 60% last year, good for 7th in the SEC. That's fantastic? That is the highest it has been under Miles, FWIW.
has it improved some? sure. Is it fantastic? no

Miles hired Frank Wilson, a fabulous recruiter, and is currently on track to bring in his most talented class to date—what could go down on paper as the greatest recruiting class in LSU’s glorious football histor
good hire, but my grandmother could recruit top athletes to LSU. We dont need Les Miles to recruit well. Trust me.

Monday Night Sept 26, 2005.
When he tried to call a time out after an interception to stop the clock sorta tipped me off.

It's a constant Miles suck off with this guy. Everyone of his articles is about how Les Miles can do no wrong, and that LSU is in great shape with this guy.

LE, I'm valuing your opinions here. Last Saturday was a perfect exmple of why you don't change horses in the middle of the stream. JJ comes in and confusion reigns. Fire GC now, what do you all think will happen? I see more confusion. Let's get thru this mess and hope CLM does the right thing and dumps his arse and makes a great hire before the bowl game, unless we're playing for the BCS cahmpionship. :duckingforcover:

Did you watch last week's game? Have you watched our offense all year?
Tenn is a bad team. And they should have beat us in our own house.
So sure, I could argue it. Im not going to. Im happy with 5-0, but shite, at some point you have to admit there are problems with our team. I can understand if you don't watch teh games, and you just see 5-0 on paper, and think "yea that is awesome".
Honest question, do you think the clock management at the end of the Ole Miss game last year, and the game last week is representation of "great coaching"???
How can one label Miles as one of the best coaches in the nation after seeing that? It blows my fricking mind. That never happens to even the worse coaches.

If Crowton indeed called for that, Miles should have overturned. He is on the field. He has a headset on. He hears everything that goes on.
It was his decision to send Jefferson in the game. It had to have been. And you dont send him in with 2 plays? WHEN YOU CALLED A RUNNING PLAY?

It was an fn atrocity. There are lots of other incidents I don't care to remember. There's an old saying in the poker room: "I'd rather be lucky than good." Les is one lucky sumbeech.
I'd never lable Les as one of the best coaches in America. shite, he probably isn't even the best coach in LA, but he's OUR coach and we have to deal with it, probably for a few more years, and I hope he wins all of the games whether it's thru sheer luck or solid coaching. We're stuck with what we've got, so I'll ignore the bad and celebrate the good, for now. 5-0!

Didn't Les say at the Sat night presser that two plays were called?

i'm with you. despite all the evidenced incompetence and mistakes, I will enjoy the crazy ride that is Les Miles until he isn't our coach anymore. then i'll jump right behind whoever LSU hires. we could be 0-5 and they'd never take the fun and pride out of being an LSU fan. Purple and Gold til I die. I wouldn't have it any other way.

One things for sure: Les Miles is not boring.

ive heard him say it was a mistake that they didnt call 2 plays
so unless he changed his tune, im not sure

see, this is where we are different.
I can still enjoy the shite out of the games, and winning.
But you simply cannot ignore the bad. The media is finally catching on, which hopefully will push for some change. And if you are going to ignore the bad, don't come around and bitch if we lose 3-4 games. Or if Les Miles makes another "boo boo" that costs us a game. Because I will just tell you "i told you so"
Posted on 10/7/10 at 12:54 am to Lester Earl
Until we lose, I won't have a reason to bitch and whine. Even if we do, I'll have another Manny's Pale Ale and count the days til baseball season. Every day above ground is a good day! Cya next time, LE.

welllllllllllllllllllllllll, you just said what happened at the end of the Tenn was a "f'n atrocity".......That very well may qualify.
But you know what he said after the Ole Miss game debacle last year??
"we'll learn from this, and move on."
know what he said this year after Tenn?
"we'll learn from this, and become a better team because of it".

It's ok to question something, especially if you have hard evidence.
goodnight

I find a lot of truth in the article. I do not want to see Miles fired. I do think we need a great hire at OC. There are plenty of positive things going on with this football team. I know that watching LSU Football the last ten years has been a lot of fun. I can't say that for the ten before that. Let's keep winning!

What is your opinion on some of the on field decisions Miles has made the last few years?
End of Ole Miss Game and Tenn game. Calling time out after an INT.
Keep in mind Les Miles is one of the 5 highest paid coaches in the entire nation.
Do those things matchup to you? Do you see anything lacking with some of those decisions??

Great post. Great insight into the game and all of it's components.
