Wildman77,

Please do not let a few immature posters deter you from sharing something significant like this with the rest of us 99%ers that appreciate and support what our Tigers accomplish.

Garrett is a winner not only in the weight room, but the classroom, in our community, and soon to be on the college gridiron. Squatting over 500 lbs. at his age, with the technique and depth he showed, IS significant! Thank you for posting the video!

Nobody said one negative thing about the OP or his son. Idiots that say they squat 400 out of the womb got ripped on.

1. Good for him. 2. Is that really a whole lot? I remember in HS we had 5-7 kids who could squat over 500. We won 3 games and had 2 players go to FCS schools over 3 years.

Ok, I didn't see that but if you did... You did.

Really hard for me to sift through who's being serious and who is trolling on this website.
It's 50-50 on most threads and all boards.

I'll edit. I don't care to argue any point if it gives the appearance of diminishing players. I'm honestly curious though because I went to school with a lot of slow meatheads. Clearly Brumfield is a great athlete and that's a hell of a lot of weight.

Yes it is alot of weight, but yes it is also weight that can be done by other people who lift weights. Sorry for jumping down your throat. I get a little on edge sometimes on this board

This site seems to be hard for you all the way around Lee, every thread you're in quickly becomes nothing more than a low-level bitchfest.

It's cool. I'm not trying to belabor the point. Glad to see the S&C is going so well this summer.

Thanks for posting Wildman. You can tell by a lot of these posts that these punks weren't raised in a good environment like your son. I was never a weightlifter. But I know that I could never lift that much weight. For his age, he is on track to be great. More importantly, he will be a success in life. Thanks for doing things the right way with your son.

Not trying to be a Debbie downer and I think Brumfield is gonna be a hell of a player but 500 lbs is where he should be. That's no extraordinary lift for a college football player and especially a linemen. I think he can and will get above the 600lbs mark eventually and that's where he needs to be.

Dude, my son JUST turned 18 yrs old! I know some 2014 recruits who will turn 20 before the year ends! I personally know a player at a university here in Louisiana (Not LSU) who will be a 25 year old senior this season! So keep it in perspective! He's JUST turned 18! And he doesn't do "half-squats" with a ton of weight and claim its legit! I hadn't posted on here and quite sometime. I had forgotten just how simple-minded some people can be! But that's my bad! So long TD! I'm gonna leave y'all to it! Definitely no further postings from me on any topic!

Posted by darryljames30 Tell your son to get more hyped. He should've yelled and beat his chest after. Why? No need for theatrics! I've always taught him to focus on your goal, accomplish it, and move on to the next goal! He did just what he was supposed to do.

Amen Brother.
