His sophomore highlights playing MLB are impressive. If he drops about 10 pounds and moves back to linebacker he's going to be a good one.

I agree that sterotypes rule on here. not sure what "both sides" mean. black kids are "well spoken" and "articulate" and "intelligent". veiled statements meaning that, as a whole, black folks aren't that way. white kids are "slow" and "soft". they should never start at a position, unless it's OL or QB.
I just tire of it. I agree that Welter was slow but we actually witnessed that. we should give all players a chance regardless of race.

I like what I see, but the fact that we missed on a scholarship LB and still haven't offered him a scholarship seems to be the coaches saying something to me...

Welter had his feet nailed to 2 X 4's. He'd spend the entire time nowhere near the play, then after the tackle was made, he'd show up a second later and touch the guy on his shoulder. Look coach, I was in on the play. The most aggravating player (OK tied with Karnell Hatcher) that's ever stepped onto the field at Tiger Stadium. I highly doubt Garnett could ever approach the ineptitude of a DJ Welter.

Beat the gumps, I believe this young man will be the biggest surprise of the class. I agree in dropping a little weight for the Inside linebacker spot, but maintain some of his size to put the butt hurt on those RB's. Again, he's from WM he knows how to work hard.

Check it out. Mathieu wasn't that highly recruited coming out of high school. LSU and Southern Miss were the only FBS programs that really gave him a serious offer. Again, ratings can't always measure intangibles.

Yes, I've said it one other time in another post and stated these are the only two FORMER players I'd ever have an opinion. You, however trash the entire program religiously. I'll continue to hold true to just these two former players. You can go continue on being miserable throughout Friday to end your miserable week.

He has TOPS and family money. He will be given the same opportunitty to play as any of the other freshman. If we are ever going to run a true 3-4 1-gap defense. He will be perfect at an ILB position. Reggie Ragland style.
