morning all...please add to the list

the quick and dirtys:

get rid of canned music, let Tiger Band play

gameday parking (with several subsets)
- have clearly marked route maps and stick to them
- if the pay area in central campus is kept, allow 50% of the spots to be sold online starting at 6PM on Thursday night.
- keep entry to the pay lots open until 30 minutes before kickoff (not this totally ridiculous 3 hours out)
- better bus service from downtown

concessions - get rid of ARAMARK...they suck, look at the model of if you buy a big cup you get unlimited refills and have drink dispensers where people can get their own (or sell the cup and let people get their own)

the chute is a good idea...what about expanding it outside of the stadium and (gasp) adding a smoking area...

long term (steal good ideas from wherever your find them)

build Maravich 2 where South Stadium Parking is now and include a multi story parking garage...the first level of parking should include RV hookups with a 20 foot clearance...build a plaza over South Stadium Drive -- should also have concessions that are open daily for students to use...

look at having a train for at least one home game a year from/to New Orleans...

anyway, please chime in

I've always though that a group charter of a train would be a great way to go to a game. Put sleeping cars and a lounge car on the charter and come in the night before. Drink and eat on the train the entire trip in and back.

Hear hear for less piped in music and more of the band playing.
Are they letting opposing team bands march at halftime now? I've forgotten already. One good thing about A&M is their band. Always enjoy watching them march.
And yeah, more leg room in those South End zone seats

work with the city to expand and encourage the use of buses on game day. Have someone from LSU run the operations because the morons at CATS are completely inept.

With parking at a premium, do something to ensure that people with TICKETS to the game have priority in the "free lots". Those are your paying customers. The people who just like to come tailgate without tickets (otherwise know as loiters) can still do so, only they should have to park furthest away from campus. They simply add to the congestion without adding any financial benefit to LSU on gameday. The goal should be to encourage people to come to the game. A big reason many don't is because the hassle of getting on campus, and the necessity of getting there several hours early just to find a parking spot is a big disincentive.

Yep.

Yep, yep, I don't think they can wait that long to lock cars out of campus, yep.

Yep, It's absolutely crazy how much better the food is outside of the stadium at just about every tailgate than it is inside the stadium.

From what I understand, a non-smoking campus means there are no smoking areas anywhere on campus.

Meh, I like the PMAC. It just needs some updating.

Would be awesome.

why would it need to expand outside the stadium?

and (gasp) adding a smoking area..

This will never happen, especially now that the numbers of people smoking have plummeted

There's nothing wrong with the canned music except for our repetitive playlist.

The band simply doesn't have enough songs, and the games are 4+ hours. Give the fans some variety. And when the band heads to the field in the 2nd Quarter the "piped-in music" of them playing is a bit flat.

LSU could buy a train, refurbish and paint, and add a section of train tracks off of the existing with tailgating spots by the football ops facility. It could be used for all sporting events and run btw btr and Nola

Stop pricing out the real fans. The nickel and dime bullshite that Joe created is ruining the game day atmosphere.

Also, allow booze.

^^ Guy who never took Econ 101.

LSU will charge what the market will bear. Charge any less and all you're doing is making the scalpers richer.

I’m not necessarily talking about ticket prices. I’m talking about everything else.

I'm laughing because when I was a student, there was a siding running off of the main track that started at old Alex Box and ran up to the Married Student dorms where it merged back with the line...

no need to own a train, a little coordination with the New Orleans Public Belt and the Louisiana Steam Train Association is all that's probably necessary...

Get rid of the band and sell those tickets. Pro teams don’t have bands and it’s fine.

Move the Golden Girls to the west side line. Sell those tickets.

Sell beer in the seats. Anything but Coors.

While we are at it, add a retractable roof so the BCSF is in the shade.

And I like the idea of on campus parking only for season ticket holders.

Work with the govt to build I-X10 off the BR bridge to I-10 in Gonzalez w/ multiple ramps near campus. Helps on game day and helps Baton Rouge traffic every other day of the year.

get rid of the band?? The band is an integral part of the college football environment, it's one of the things that separate the college game from the professional game in a good way. Horrible idea.

You band nerds think putting a toilet brush on a hat makes them integral to the college game.

It’s not true. We just need the team and music the players like on the PA system.

Why do you think so many people leave at halftime, anyway? Gee whiz! Is that when the band spends a quarter on the field.

Thank god they don’t have the hat pausing their performances for tv timeouts.

do you need the band? no. but the bands are what make the college environment enjoyable. It's part of the tradition and culture of the school. Something people enjoy especially those that attended.
