Wow.....I didn't really look at the weather earlier but some of the weather services do seem to be leaning to your line of thought....that would be insane.

If i had to bet i'd say this game gets played at 11am tomorrow with 2000 people in the stands.

You do realize that there was standing water on the field at 12:00 today? Just because it easn't raining at that moment, doesn't mean that we haven't gotten about (a whole lot of) inches of rain in the last 3 and a half days.

the radar looks to have rain for 2 pm, but that's it. 30 minute rain or less. and should clear up for baseball at the box on Sunday NIGHT!

I heard that there would be a huge chance of thunderstorms around 8pm on this morning's news. Three hours later I heard that NCAA/ LSU postponed the game until 8. At 12:05, as I walked out of church at St. James (Downtown), the sun was blazing.
Who was in charge of this decision?

I truly can't see how postponing it until 7 tonight would fix that.....if there is no rain in the future and you are concerned about the field conditions postpone it until tomrrow......24 hours would do it a whole helluva lot better if you are assuming that it won't get worse which if it is going to get worse why the hell move it to 7 in the first place.

Crew should have been up at daylight taking care of that standing water

It was raining at Alex Box until about 10:15 this morning. The field is too still too wet to be playing right now. Give it a few hours to dry and it can be "playable", but it's still going to be soggy. Do you really want the game to turn on a routine fly ball that drops when the outfielder falls down?

give the crew time to squeegee the water off the field.

Some people don't get it.

Is this stuff not a lot of tropical mositure??? I'm no meteorologist but I've lived in S LA all my life and that is what you get this time of year from what I understand......if so that pic doesn't show any part of the Gulf and even if it did it is 1:30 a lot of things could change by 7.
Looking at accuweather and weather.com they have the rain chance bumping up to 65% at 7PM which is the highest it is today according to them.
Now I know all of these SOBs could be wrong but its all we have to work with at this point.
