Don't forget 2 HORRIBLE personal foul calls back to back to let VT drive the field for the go ahead FG

Just one. The 2nd one was a good call. The helmet to helmet was BS, unless they wanted to call it against Tyrod and even then it would have been a bad call.

Did GA Tech have Nesbitt for the Va Tech game? I know when he was out they struggled in the middle of the season, but since he has been back healthy they've looked great.

Nesbitt was our entire offense the VT game. His scrambling kept us in it. The offense wasnt really working at that point.

He wasnt hurt until the 1st drive of the Miss St game, which was game 4. Shaw played MSU and Duke and while we did struggle, its hard to see it in the scores. We beat MSU 38-7 and Duke 27-0.

Duke was our big passing game. Duke sold out to stop the run, we only had 224 yards rushing. Shaw was 9-14-0 for 230 yards passing.

Against MSU we had 438 rushing yards.

We really struggled when Shaw was hurt and we played our 3rd and 4th string QBs against Gardner-Webb and then when Nesbitt was playing injured. Shaw did struggle when he replaced Nesbitt in the FSU game.

What was the story on the Gardner Webb game?

Serious question by the way.

There is no story. We won. They played well and had a good D. Calvin Booker was our qb and was not able to run the option or complete passes so our O was basically non existant. Fortunately our D won the game for us despite our 3 turnovers.

Against Gardner-Webb we started our walk-on scout team QB...who is a 245 lb drop-back passer. His job is to simulate the opponents QB. We only have two option QB's at GT right now (a soph and a frosh)...and both were hurt and could not play.
To top it off, we held out a host of other starters that game.

Still no excuse...but the players learned quickly what can happen if you do not come out ready to play 100%.

Remember that GT football is not made up of layers of high school All-Americans...we are thin. We do not just plug and play. We require a reasonable amount of healthy players...and complete focus and execution.

Most years it seems we play above our head.

VT defense >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>UGA or LSU defense

We both proabably have more "talent", but their D and special teams is more disciplined and better coach, which go hand in hand.

You haven't seen how poorly LSU "D" has played after the Alabama game. If they play like they played against Arkansas it will be a long night.
