Fun fact: With FSU and Va Tech losses . . .

LSU moves to #3 on active list of most consecutive bowl appearances.
Currently the streak is:
FSU (36) but at 5-6 with loss to UF they are out
Va Tech (25) is 4-6 with games vs UVA and Marshall
UGA (21)
Oklahoma (19)
LSU (18) beginning with Little Nicky's first year in 2000
Boise St/Wisconsin (16)
Bama (14)

Weird thing about the VA Tech/Marshall game is that it will only be played if VA Tech beats UVA...

This is great and all but going to a bowl now doesn’t mean what it used to mean. There are just too many damn bowls.

I mean, nobody thinks it means anything other than being a measure of not having a complete dogshit season, which is still saying something for 18 straight seasons, relatively speaking.

Missing a bowl nowadays would be terrible because that would mean a losing season while playing 2-3 cupcakes.

The only chance a 5-7 team has to make a bowl game is if there aren't enough 6-6+ teams to fill all of the bowl slots. It looks like that won't be very likely this year.

It's still apples to apples. Bowls might not mean a lot, but we're still ahead of 125 other teams on that metric.

I agree that there are too many bowls if only judging in attendance and quality...specially the early ones BUT
having said that, it is a great reward for many players that would never reach an NY6 Bowl.
So let it be Bowls.
No forces anyone to watch.
