Need rebuttals!
"1BadBuck said... (original post) We haven’t seen this defense face the likely Heisman winner and #1 pick in the draft. This pass defense is completely untested.
Not sure if you are suggesting that LSU's pass defense IS tested while tOSU's is not. If so, here's a bit of information for you. The LSU pass defense may have indeed been "tested" but they failed miserably at those tests against the better offenses that they faced.
LSU gave up 409 passing yards to Texas. The 409 passing yards Texas put up against LSU was THE MOST passing yards Texas has had all season. And remember, Texas also played La Tech, Rice and Kansas this year.
LSU gave up 311 passing yards against Florida. Mighty Towson didn't even allow Florida to pass for 300 yards.
LSU gave up 418 passing yards against Bama.
Hell, LSU gave up 38 points to Vandy which was the most points Vandy has scored on ANY opponent this season. And just for the sake of comparison, Vandy only scored 24 points against Purdue.
No disrespect but LSU has a good offense, but they don't scare me at all. Seems like every average to good offense they play takes their defense to the woodshed.

Can’t argue with facts. My hope is that they find a consistent pass rush and those numbers will improve.

Agree with that guy. We’re getting exploited.

Teams are trying to keep up. They can throw for a lot of yards, but they aren’t scoring enough points.

If our offense wasn’t so good, we’d have at least 2 losses by now. It’s still amazing to think back at how we thought the defense would have to carry the new offense, but it’s been the other way around.

Pretty simple... Game script. We boat raced most of those teams in the 1Q and 1H so they had to throw almost every single play to have a shot to come back. Try comparing yards per pass attempt instead of raw number of yards.

The comment about Florida is particularly true. He's not wrong.
Anyways, here's to hoping we see them on Jan. 13. Playing OSU for the title in NOLA has worked out well so far...

Lots of stupid too.
Did Florida need to throw for 300 yards to stay within 14 points of Towson?

The transitive property always works in football.

Ohio State would be an epic shoot out I don’t think anyone doubts that

Exactly we get out to big leads usually so early teams have to pass on us. We have shown we can be a darn good defense at times.

LSU still deserves to be #1!

Seems like a reasonable observation
