I have always liked LSU except when they played Bama. And I realize that we were fortunate to even get another shot at playing you guys. I was on the sidelines for the November 5th game in Tuscaloosa and remember being just sick at the outcome. I remember thinking that had we won the game I would never want a rematch against you guys in the BCSNCG. However as soon as the game ended I started looking for ways for us to get another chance. As luck would have it we got our chance and it showed in that we were the hungrier team.
That being said, You guys did not even resemble the same dominate team that you had been all year. Something happened. I for the life in me can not figure out why Lee was not in the game. I mean when JJ threw the ball underhanded to Mosely he would have never scene the field again. If Lee had thrown 2 pick 6s after that would it have even mattered? Would anybody even have questioned him as to why? No !
I have heard rumors on Finebaum about something happening with the team. Something with Sheppard and Miles. Has anyone heard of anything like this?
I know it stings right now, but you guys had a great season even though it ended badly. But for the 2012 season you will be picked to win it all and hopefully on November 3rd it will be a Night of two great SEC teams in Death Valley, and not this shell of a team on Monday Night, that was not the LSU team I had been watching all year.
Best of Luck.

I like your class. That loss hurt, but I'm getting over it. Just a game. I think Miles had the team prepared very well this year, and it was an amazing year. I wonder why Lee didn't get in, but seriously, Jarrett Lee is/was not Drew Brees. With the way you guys were blowing up our O-Line it didn't matter who was in there. Lee would NOT have brought us back to win. We have a bright future, and a coach that can win, so I am just going to look forward to the future. 8 wins in 2008, 9 in 2009, 11 last year, 13 this year, so things are trending up, especially with a real qb next season.

Appreciate the classy post. As others have said, it wasn't so much the loss but the pathetic showing that will take a while to swallow.

Thanks for the classy post. On November 5th the best team won. On January 9th the best team won. We will get over it in time. But it was just a shitty showing on the biggest stage of the year. See you in Death Valley next year.

Thanks, sectops. You're a class act and a majority of all LSU fans really appreciate your commentary. I hope you ignore that classless gesture in poncho villa's reply. You did not deserve that and I'm sure that the game on Nov. 3 will be a great one.

Like the original poster, I'm all Bama. I watched your team all year, and felt like LSU and Bama were far and away the best teams in the U.S. Had Alabama been number one going into the bowls, no WAY would I have wanted to play you guys again. Bring on Okie State, Stanford, whoever...just not LSU again! Too good a team....

I have no clue what happened on Monday, although I suspect that it had to do with your offense never getting inspired by a big defensive or special teams play. I was holding my breath the whole game, just waiting for one of those momentum-changing plays to occur and then the floodgates opening.

I genuinely think that y'all had a super team and that next year's may be even better. If the game had been closer, I really wouldn't have had an issue with a split championship, just because your team was so dominant against a tough schedule and beat everyone on it, including us.

I expect another war in Baton Rouge later this year; kinda wish we weren't in the same division these days!

Thanks. That was classy, but I wish you would have just come on here and told all these LSU fans how fricking retarded they are. Would have put a smile on my face. I seriously hate all of you.

So where we and I think that is where Miles head was. Two touchdows would have gotten us back in the game up until the middle of the 4th quarter. We had been down before during the seasom and came back due to a defensive takeover. Bama's offense knew our few weak spots and prevented turnovers and takeaways which would have been what we needed to turn the game around.

I just heard this from a friend with ties to the LSU athletic department. I am not sure if it is true or not but a lot of the pieces fit. Apparently about 3 hours before the game T-Bob and Russell Shepard 2 other receivers and a hand full of linemen got into a heated argument with Les Miles and the Offensive Coordinator about Lee getting more playing time and possibly starting the BCS Championship game. It got so heated that Miles benched T-Bob and RS and 3 other players. He called Lee into his office and told Lee that he would not be playing in the game. The OC told Miles that he thought that Lee gave the team the best chance to win the game. Miles told the OC to start looking for a new job after the game and Miles will be calling the plays for the championship game. Apparently the O Line sided with T-Bob and Lee and did not give their all in the game to prove to Miles that the players are more important then the coach. Now I know that this is hard to believe but when you look at some things it kind of explains a few things: I will list some. Read option pass on 3rd and 10 4 times.Running the same 5 plays over 90% of the game. Horrible play calling. Running the ball in the 4th quarter down by 21. T-Bob not taking a snap. RS only playing 3 snaps and not touching the ball or getting looked at. Lee getting off the bus and walking 10 feet behind the team with his head down and looking dejected. Heated argument between receivers and JJ and O Line with O line coach on sidelines. And the kicker, reports that 2/3rds of the plays practiced were not run and the players were not told why. Again I do not know if this is entirely true but there seems to be a lot of truth in it just by seeing what happened."
