Exactly... Why go to a new place and do something you can do at home every night back home? If you want to listen to a band go find a local band. This is the home of grunge music(Nirvana, Pearl Jam). Why the hell would you want to go listen to cajun music. I just don't get it.

Based on that logic why go to the game? You can do that back home too!

I relate going to this event in the same light as going to Paris, or New York, or China and eating at McDonalds. Sure its there, but that doesn't mean you have to eat it...

I do! I just want to do it with LOCAL music, LOCAL food, and LOCAL beer. That's the joy of going to a new place. When I visit Chicago I don't go to a cajun food joint and eat gumbo and jambalaya, I go and find authentic Chicago style pizza.

Well Put

...and no one says you can't.

To each his own.

I will be there for 5 days. I will be doing all the local stuff.

But, on Friday night, I will be at the Showbox with a very large LSU crowd having fun.

What makes one think there will only be LSU fans at the Travis Matte concert? Maybe the locals are tired of all the dreary grunge sh** and want to hear something lighter and more fun. Maybe they are buying tickets to the concert to mix with us. LSU's partying reputation preceeds us and they are comiing to see what the real party is like. I guarantee there will be lots of locals there to partake of the LSU atmosphere.

...Good point. The locals may want to see what a Louisiana Festival is like.

I will be there. I'll also take in everything else I can. Victoria is on for Monday. Oh, some were asking about the use of US money in Canada, this is no problem. You don't need to exchange.
You can also use Credit Cards. FYI

Yeah I was wondering, we thought about going up to Vancouver. Would that be a good stop or any better suggestions?

when I was in japan, I ate a lot of sushi

it was pretty awesome

oh, and i'm convinced that the eel sushi was made as a joke. most of the locals don't even eat that shite.

We're looking into Bumbershoot on Sunday. Supposed to have some local flair as well as big name performers. We are doing all the tourist stuff on Thur and Fri, so this may be a nice change.

Is a lot of people going to that? I mean come on your in a new state, explore and mingle with the locals and local bars. Travis Matte is always playing in Erwinville and shite, you can see him anytime back home. But really is a lot of people going to that?

Exactly why we aren't buying tickets and plan on playing it by ear. I am sure the party will be a good time but we want to hit up the local bars. I guess there is always Thursday night for that.

You guys should take over Earl's in University District. One of the best dive bars in the area and after two drinks there, you are on the verge of blackout.
