They gave up on that last drive and Mettenberger paid the price. Their job is to prevent ONE MAN from getting hit. If they don't do their job, that one man suffers, and they all gave up. 65 didn't even bother to help his leader up. There was a half-assed effort by one lineman, which Mett shrugged off. Too late. Where were you when he was crawling on the ground?
Mett is a champ.
I hope Coach Miles runs that line until they puke.

I don't post on here often (not sure if I ever have), but I wanna go ahead and apologize for any and all Alabama fans who use that GIF to troll or flame LSU.
Mett gained some respect from me. That o-line did nothing for him that last drive and Miles doesn't even give him a RB to pass protect on 4th and a mile. Not to mention, Mett walks to the sideline and not a person acknowledges him. He deserved better.

That is almost surreal.
Make no mistake about it, The O line is what has failed this team for quite a few years. It is a combination of piss poor coaching and players who are obviously lacking what it takes to do that job.
Mett has my respect. He got back up and finished his job like a man.
