Freakish talent on defense

LSU obviously has a lot of overall talent on defense, but this is about the freakish talent.
Anthony Johnson has such an unusual combination of size, strength and quickness that his nickname is Freak
Tyrann Mathieu has preternatural quickness. I've never seen a ballplayer with that much physical quickness combined with mental quickness.
Barkevious Mingo is 6'5" 240 lbs with the speed of a safety.
There are other players on the D who are just as good as these guys, but these stand out for their unusual combination of talents.

I think the more impressive fact is the depth on Defense. If we lost someone at any position we have replacements across the board.
Only two people I see us losing that really "hurts" us. Is Sam Montgomery or Ryan Baker.
I mean we lost Nevis, Kelvin, and Peterson from last year and our defense is actually better.

Where do you see Sam Montgomery going?

I meant if he were injured or Baker was injured that the back up replacement wouldn't be particularly on par with the starter.
We lost Tyrann Mathieu for a game this year and Ron Brooks stepped up big even.

Logan. I don't think most appreciate how good that guy has been in the middle.

I think the biggest thing we would miss about Sam is his leadership. I think he a tad bit overrated as it relates to his physical talent, but he is a phenomenal leader on the field.

Think if we had SEC caliber linebackers....

Ahh thought you meant from leaving early
I think wed be just fine of Sam got hurt
We rotate sp many guy at end (Mingo would be the starter now) that it wouldnt kill us

Thats what I was referring to. I think Rasco could possibly step in, but not be the same leader like Sam.
Baker is the most experienced LB.
And I question if we lost Brandon Taylor. He's been a pretty big leader this year. But we have back ups.
And as far as DT with Logan I think he has done great. But Freak could step in.

I think you are forgetting K Adams
If Sam got hurt it would be mingo and Adams at end. Rasco would then rotate
