He was the only coach I can remember who was verifiably worse than Curly Hallman. memphis hit rock bottom because that is where they usually are. their high point is bowl eligibility
For the first time since Rex Dockery's untimely death, that program is actually moving up. Fuente is the first coach since Fred Pancoast to be hired away to another job, and that was in the early Seventies. They were more of a mediocre program than a bad one when I was a kid. Because they didn't play in a conference until the 90s, they ended up playing Ole Miss every year, and UT, State, and Arkansas often. That obviously translated into a lot of automatic losses.
However, with the increase in funds and TV exposure with the move to the American, Memphis is FINALLY spending some money on football. Attendance is way up over 3 years ago, and they just made a well regarded follow up hire to Fuente. I think they are going to become a fixture at the top of the American, along with Houston and Cincinatti. That's a solid step up from where they used to be.

You're the dumbass. What is Wilson doing? Being considered for HC opportunity. You're an idiot!

It's done. Frank is leaving.

Football scoop reporting deal should be completed soon between utsa and wilson

That is probably not the best job he will be offered.

So Wilson fades into obscurity. He'll never be the head coach at LSU. Coach O will slide into Wilson's spot and Wilson will be an afterthought.

Sure thing bud, ad hominem attacks are really helping your argument...
Is this what you resort to when someone disagrees with you? First say they work at McDonald's and then tell them their career is dishonorable? Get off your high horse.

Well this sucks. I guess he's ready for the challenge. Good luck, Frank. Wish he would stay.

Let Cam go and promote Wilson or regret this day!

Best of luck to him, and he did alot for LSU but this seems like a hasty decision. Hes got what? 5-6 schools to recruit against and nobody wants to play for UTSA but 1-2 star players at best. Unless he wins consistent titles his name will fade from memory. He couldve waited a year or two and gotten a Big 12 or SEC HC job on his recruiting skills alone.

As an attorney in the most lawsuit heavy state in the country, I'd say it's safe to say your profession and most folks would agree, is a bit dishonorable.
And if scholarly English and proper communication is what you're looking for on Tiger Rant, then you must be one incredibly stupid person.

I'm not an attorney in Louisiana, nor do I practice that area of law, nor do I make blanket statements and assumptions about a person based on their career. But hey, whatever floats your boat.
And if that's really all you have to add in a conversation about a guy taking a huge promotion, something that has zero to do with what I do for a living, well that basically says all I need to know.
Youre either very young or very ignorant.
Just a brief look at your posting history, you seem to have a problem using your big boy words when someone disagrees with you. Instead of offering a counter argument that's actually relevant, the other side of the argument is just a dumbass. But I'm sure that's just how things are in "corporate America" right?

Why is he being selfish? So our new DC is being selfish b/c he left Wisc in the same boat.
Take off the LSU blinders, these aren't LSU fans, they are career coaches. This job has attractive elements:
Play in nice facility
San Antonio is larger than most realize
Tons of high school talent, can recruit in small budget (stay within 4 hour drive)
Not power 5 but winning at next 5 school makes you hot quick.
This isn't a 20 year move, and it's never a dead end if you have it. We'll see. He gone.
