And got so frustrated he quit in his prime.

He had who.... Jennings, Harris and Etling? Not sure about tRant's opinion, but that's a rough list. I'd have Etling as the overall best of the three.

Follow that up with Gabbert, Kessler, and Minchew. Against NFL defenses. Yuck.

Mindshew finished the year 16th in passer rating, 20th on PFFs qb rankings. And he was third on pass plays greater than 20 yards. He was right around Nfl average

So he had one year with an arguably average QB.

NFL passer rating is a terrible stat. 20th ranked per PFF, in a league with 32 starters. 16/17 would be average. 20 is 38th percentile. Not good. Not even average.

Jags are all in on the Minchew tank. Dude sells swag in the short run but he isn't a long term NFL starter.

I actually don't even think Leonard is a great NFL RB. He reminds me of Herschel Walker--bigger, faster, and stronger than everyone else in college, but lacks NFL vision and versatility (and I said so years ago).

But to his credit he has played with a bunch of shitty QB, which was the point of the OP.

Considering how short the average RB career is in the NFL, he better put up and enjoy

Payton played with a 2× All-American and Davey O'Brien winner.

Sanders played with one Heisman-winning QB and another runner-up.

are you drunk? No one single stat can tell the entire story, but passer rating is by far the best individual metric if you had to chose just one

I am buzzed right now. But passer rating is still not a good metric. At all. Especially "if you had to choose just one". Literally every legit sport analytics person would disagree with you.

Even if it is the best (which it isn't), it's still awful. That only speaks to our limited ability to measure football.

I mean, you're just wrong.

Either way, LOL at the irony of posting a Jags fan gif in this thread.

Fournette is just a middle of the road NFL starter. If you take off the purple and gold glasses, you see that clearly he hasn’t lived up to his elite (top 5 overall) RB status. And don’t blame the lack of QB play for that.

Of course he’s going to be the focal point of the defense. But elite players produce no matter the supporting cast.

Adrian Peterson had a 2k rushing season with Christian Ponder as his QB.
