What about Joe Cribbs, William Andrews and James Brooks at Auburn in the late 70’s?

Dickerson and James at SMU were the best in college football; I know not the SEC but they were awesome

I wouldn't put them as the best, but some could possinly make a case for Chubb/Michell this year. They are both having very solid years, and are a big reason UGA has only 1 loss on the season

Both backs have 1000 yards as well as 13 touchdowns apiece.

The answer is Cadillac Williams and Ronny Brown -Auburn

gridironnow.com

LF7 and Guice is ranked 16 out of 20 with that link.

No. Fournette was hurt and missed too many games. Also, he did nothing against the Gumps. So, no.

Seriously, Collins still being mentioned in in the same breath will all the best running backs to play in the SEC.

HE played 4 games

He does not finish in the top 50 all time yards at LSU

I guess that speaks so highly for his talent, and what people saw in him. The fact that he only played so little at LSU, but still has people talking, says a lot. I remember him completely demolishing Auburn, and making Takeo Spikes look like a little girl playing LB, in that game. It was a shame that we still found a way to lose that game, but Collins was money that night, as was Faulk.

For LSU alone I'd take Faulk and Collins all day. McFadden and Jones was great and the Jacobs/Williams/Brown trio at Auburb was awesome.
