i was just thinking how crazy it was to have had Fournette (a shot at NFL ROY) and Guice both last year. How do you guys think that ranks with most talented shared backfields of the past?

Obvious contenders that jump out at me, but will update as you think of them:

Gurley and Chubb at UGA circa 2013
Hilliard and James at LSU circa 1983
Ingram and Richardson at Bama circa 2010
Cadillac and Brown at Auburn circa 2004 - corrected by DarrylJames
McFadden and Jones at Arkansas circa 2005 - Coondaddy21, RedTigerRulz
Faulk and Mealey/Collins at LSU circa 1998 - George the Greek
Jackson and James at Auburn circa 1985 - El Gato

old timer's edition
Cannon and Stovall at LSU circa 1959 - DISQUALIFIED, didn't play together. - Godfather1
Taylor and Cannon at LSU circa 1957 - EvrybodysAllAmerican

also, i think you might be able to make a case for it being Richardson and Derrick Henry for Alabama in 2013.

i was always shocked that mcfadden didn't have a better pro career. that was one of the fastest, smoothest backs i've ever seen play. and then to have jones too? that was crazy.

And Peyton Hillis.

Their 3rd string RB that year was on the cover of Madden.

that's the tough ones. Where one guy (jackson) is so good that he compensates for the other guy not quite being as famous...

Mcfadden and Jones were a nightmare. I'll vote LF7 and Guice, but that's a homer pick of course.

Pretty sure he was hurt often in his early NFL days and then age has gotten him a bit. Still made a bunch of money but I agree with you.

McFadden and Jones out of the wildcat was so hard to defend.

Honorable mention: Faulk, Mealey and Collins

McFadden taking snaps in the Wildcat with Felix Jones and Peyton Hillis on either side of him was unstoppable. That shite was crazy.

3 starting NFL running backs, one being a 1 freakish talent who should've won the Heisman, all a threat on every play.
