I really don't understand why the OSU coach did not ask for replay on that foul ball call. We may have still won the game but WTF? OSU coach is probably beating himself up pretty good right now. I know they don't have replay in their conference like we do in the SEC but that was a no brainer. That was their best chance to get back in the game and it was clearly a fair ball based on the replay. Talk about fortunate for our Tigers. We'll take it.

It was not reviewable as a double. Had to be ground rules double or HR

It was absolutely reviewable. The way the rule reads is unnecessarily confusing, but a fair/foul ball in the outfield is absolutely reviewable.

It's silly that the coach has the ask for a review. If a play is close at this stage of the tournament, all plays should be reviewed.

Regardless, lsu got a break and i'll take it.

It's non-reviewable. Ball has to touch GROUND FIRST in order to get reviewed. In this case, it didn't touch ground or go over the fence. Bad luck for the Beavers I guess.

At live speed, it looked foul to me but after replay it clearly was fair. But what bases would be awarded if the call would be overturned? I don't see how you could award bases to runners in that situation

During the bottom of the third inning in today’s game a ball was hit down the left field would line. Our third base umpire went out down the line and ruled the ball to be foul. It was obviously a very close call but one that the umpire crew thought they ruled correctly. Per our replay protocol either the head coach may come out onto the field and request the crew to get together or the umpire crew may get together on their own if they feel a review is warranted. In either situation, it is the sole authority of the crew chief to decide if any play is to go to review. Nothing happened on this play that triggered a review. Had this play gone to review AND was ruled fair by replay, the replay officials would have placed the runners on the bases they think they would have received had the ball been ruled fair. The NCAA does not publicize the name or the location of the replay crew but that they are members of the NCAA Baseball Umpire Program most familiar with umpire mechanics and the NCAA playing rules.

It was said later during the broadcast that the rule is interpreted so that GROUND includes the wall.

Only one run scored just now on the same play in the UF/TCU game.

so, this encourages coaches to go out and argue for a replay review after every close play...doesn't really sound worth a damn to me....

At live speed it looked foul to everyone on the field. Duplantis stopped playing it, the runners stopped, the OSU base coach apparently told their head coach it was foul and the umpires called it foul. No discussion. Move on. It was only the TV guys who saw it was fair, and they didn't get a proper slow motion replay until about five minutes later.

Blown call by everyone on the field. Move on.

It did hit the yellow pad which would make it fair they said. But from what I thought the rule was is that once an umpire calls foul ball it is not a reviewable play. Guess I was wrong
