About time. Too bad it took the entire staff and a towel boy leaving to make it happen.

I suspect that Randy could have been hired earlier. He may have decided it was time to come home. I certainly don't have any "inside" information. Just a thought.

He had to graduate which from what I heard he hadn't done earlier.

Didn't think he'd ever come here after being turned down before.

I hope he enjoys his one year on the sidelines.

Can he coach defense? Or teach a team to run some semblance of a halfcourt offense against a zone?

Two years ago we had a decent assistant coaching staff with David Patrick and Eric Musselman. Now we have Brendan Suhr and Randy Livingston.... This is a bad staff and there is no other way to say it.

I loved Randy as a player but the guy has had only one stop as a D-League coach. Which was 4 years ago. This looks like Johnny couldn't find anyone else. But hey, I hope it works out.

Randy knew more in 11th grade about basketball than a lot of coaches.

I hope he is successful in helping coach the team this year. Also, perhaps he will be helpful in courting the best LA recruits and maintain an Australian recruiting connection. Welcome, Randy. Geaux Tigers!

Clearly that has worked out for him in his coaching career....

Darnell Lazare has the same coaching resume as Randy.

I played against him in high school, a few times. Dude was the best I've seen up close.

we can only hope Randy knows how to draw up a few plays other than get the ball across half court and hope for the best.

First lets correct some bullshite that has been posted. Randy Gould have come to LSU before but he devlined.

He has a very lucrative scouting service in Austrslia. He travels the world and has the respect of basketball people all over the world. He was a coach for the Austrslian Nationsl Team. He has his degree.

Be thankful he is coming home.
