Les will start whoever gives us the best shot to win.

Exactly. Why can't LSU fans accept this and enjoy the ride?

I love how some of the people on here apparently don't like JJ, but I wonder how JL feels about him? I am guessing he is friends with him as well, which makes all the hate on here that much funnier.

I hesitate to comment on the JJ/JL issues, since there often is more heat than light in these threads. But a few comments/observations:
The anti-JJ posters seem to assume that JL would have been as good last year as he has been this year. That may or may not be true, but I distinctly remember JL throwing a pass last year directly to a DB in the end zone. Fortunately, despite getting hit in the chest, the DB dropped the ball. I can remember thinking "shades of 08." There were other times I had my doubts about JL as well during 2010. It may well be that JL's obvious improvements may well be due to the changes in the offensive coaching (Kragthorpe). It is not so clear that JL would have been better overall than JJ's admittedly non-stellar performance. On this point, I am inclined to trust the judgment of Miles and his staff as to which QB gave us a better chance to win then and now. I have always thought that JL had great potential, but somehow he just wasn't finding it. He now seems to coming into his own.
The anti-JJ posters also seem to assume, despite the various reports to the contrary, that JJ isn't similarly capable of making significant improvements. That is as unfair and unjustified as to conclude that JL couldn't improve. Maybe he too has turned the corner under Kragthorpe tutelage. We don't know, and may never know, depending on the outcome of the grand jury proceedings.
In any event, JL will, as he should be, continue to be the starter. He has earned the position, and given that JJ will have missed almost 1/2 the season, at the very least, it would be problematic to put JJ in as the starter. On the other, we could very well need JJ if Lee gets hurt. If JJ has improved (and hasn't regressed too far in his "time out"), we may be very glad he is back on the team (assuming that happens).
If JJ does make it back to the team, I would not assume, without any reason or evidence to do so, that he would be anything other than a team player and a support to his teammates, including JL. To assume he would be divisive is premature and a bit unfair.
I am neither pro-JJ or anti-JJ or pro-JL or anti-JL. I just want the best QB on the field. Both JJ and JL have had plenty of struggles. Both have had some success. Frankly, at times I have thought that we ought to see if we couldn't find a walkon QB to replace both. But I am very pleased with how JL has hung in there, stuck with the team and LSU. Kudos to him and I hope (and believe) that he will have continued success.
I also hope that JJ weathers his storm and can be available to contribute to the team. I see no reason to attack him or belittle him with respect to his efforts on the field. He hasn't been a great QB, but he also is a part of team that went 10-2 last year, had a pretty strong performance in the Cotton Bowl, and for which he deserves at least some credit and respect.
I frankly don't get the hostility toward either QB. They are both Tigers and deserve our support (again assuming that JJ makes it back). I also think the coaching staff deserves a little credit for knowing something about which QB is the better prepared to lead LSU on the field. Since, up until now, both QB had plenty of flaws, and the coaches have more information, etc., I am inclined to trust them, especially because they have earned that trust. Miles does, despite what some have said in the past, seem to know what he is doing.

Les has told JJ he is getting a Redshirt if/when he comes back. This way, Lee isn't looking over his shoulder. There isn't any division drawn between the team. JJ gets to practice and get reps. And if Lee goes down with an injury, JJ can still be inserted. Seems this plan would eliminate any gray area. Lee knows his role. JJ knows his role. Team knows the roles. Keep this team on its current path for victory.
This is the correct answer.
