How did you come to LSU? What other colleges did you look at?

I grew up in Texas and then moved to Connecticut when I was 12. My father and grandfather and great-grandfather all went to Texas. I grew up a huge Longhorns fan and then when it came time to apply to colleges I wanted to break the mold.
I absolutely wanted to return to the south, I hated Connecticut. So I looked into schools with good football programs, literally my only starting point. I had just seen the 2003 National Championship and sent out an aplication to LSU. Made my visit in October and felt like I was at home immediately. Also applied to VT; didn't care for the colder weather. And so football and the oaks are really what got me to LSU. What about the rest of you?

CSB; TL:DR frickYOU

i was in military school. some of my friends were attending LSU and we met up at a bar. they started talking about their life at LSU and i decided then and there that the military was not my thing. the women, 18 yr old drinking age, la food and football sold me. how mature was that? one of the best decisions of my life. found my wife, created lifetime friendships and my business degree has helped me make a damn good living for many yrs.

Since I stepped foot on campus in 2005 as a freshman I have been all about LSU; I hardly remember my sports life before that

When I was about 12-13 I started playing pop warner football and became a LSU fan, but was a Michigan and Miami Canes fan growing up. My dad for the longest time wore a Michigan hat everywhere and would watch Michigan football games. My older brothers always had Miami Hurricanes shirts and hats(early 90's).

I'm from New Orleans, but my family were Tulane fans (different world in the 70's ) We moved to Chicago when i was a kid, college basketball was big in Chicago in the early 80's with DePaul. LSU was ranked in the top 5 all year and I've been an LSU fan ever since.

Must've been tough where you were with nothing but Giants fans around. When I moved to CT, no one even bothered to give a shite about college football. Grew up in BR though, so I was an LSU fan from birth.

My hatred for UT is probably larger than my love for LSU. If you don't feel this way too then GTFO, bandwagon fan.

When I went back to visit my parents for Christmas before the 2007 BCS game for which I had tickets I was telling a group of people about how I had tickets. No joke responses were: "Oh, what sport?" And "Oh, who is playing"

I'm 15 and live in Alabama so as a child I grew up an alabama fan. But honestly i didn't really care until I was about 10 then I became a hardcore LSU fan along with my dad, who was born in Louisiana.

I grew up only watching soccer back home. I started to pay attention when my older sister came to LSU, then when I started at LSU and went to my first game in Tiger Stadium...I was hooked!

My dad moved around a lot because of his job. Moved here when I was in between 4th and 5th grade. Never liked football before (came from up north). After a few years down here, I couldn't get enough!

Grew up in Texas...Got academic scholarship to LSU, came down for a visit and decided it was for me (was intrigued by the idea of moving somewhere where I knew no one). Before my freshman year started, I started hanging out with a fraternity that I ended up joining. Been here ever since.

Younger Brother and sister both went to UT-Austin. Entire family still lives in Texas...Austin, Houston, and Longview.
