For those that support Bama having a rematch...

you should probably support a lack of divisions in the SEC? Right?
I mean... why stop at playing each other twice? If Bama and LSU are legitimately the two best teams in the SEC... wouldn't you want them playing for the SEC title over Georgia as well?

I'm not supporting it, but we all agreed to play by the BCS rules before the season began. If they say play Bama, we play them, and beat them!
I think the voters will take from 2 to 3 or 4 after the last week to avoid a rematch.

Your logic is flawed. The main reason I support LSU/Bama in the NC Game (at this moment, this is a very fluid situation) is because those are clearly the two best teams in the country (1. LSU, 2. Alabama). The reason I can fill comfortable saying that is LSU has blown past every other opponent this season but were shut down by Bama's defense.
Also, there are no rules in the BCS that a team has to win their conference to make the championship game. Write a letter to the BCS committee arguing to have the rule implemented and then obviously Alabama wouldn't deserve to be in the game. But if the goal of the BCS is to put the two best teams on the field, then there's no doubt the two best teams in college football right now are LSU and Alabama.
But let's stop this talk about the NC game when there's no guarantee LSU will even make it there. They have two tough games left against another Top 5 opponent than a possible Top 10 opponent on the road.

I agree. I just think there are divisions in football, conferences and inside of conferences.
If you can bitch about being shut out of the BCS title game because you don't win your conference, then why wouldn't the same people be bitching about the SEC West being so lopsided over the East?
If your logic holds for one, it holds for the other.

The only reason I kinda want to play Bama again is so that we can beat Saban twice in one season.
That said I don't think LSU should have to play them again. Bama had their shot.

I'm not a huge fan of conferences to begin with, let alone divisions. Lets have a soccer-style league with relegations and promotions.

You're right.. there's no written rule... but there's a shite load of voter sentiment to support it.

First, I don't know that that is the goal. But if it is... are you saying the SEC doesn't want a "true champion" as well?
Isn't it possible for a team to have two losses, if they play a tough enough schedule, and exist in a tough conference with a lot of parity, and get completely shut out of the picture? Even if they are one of the two best teams in the country?
Of course it is. That means the BCS is not wholly considered with matching up the two best for the title.

The ONLY reason I want a Bama rematch is to ensure that the SEC holds on to the belt for a sixth straight time. I dont want some team from some sorry arse conference to somehow sneak in and win. Then folks like Robert Smith, Herbstreit and Holtz will start proclaiming the end of the SEC era of dominance and claim the pac 12 or big 10 or big 12 is the most dominant conference now.
