My only question is when did "want" become Miles favorite word? I've heard him say that word more than any other word this year! It works though, his team plays like hell for him. They WANT it!
I think Les has already cemented his legacy. Other than 2008, which was a rebuilding year, the team has been near the top of the SEC ever since Miles took over for Saban.

Obviously, if he and his team can finish the year 14-0 with the crystal football, he'll reach legendary status whenever he decides to retire.

But let's not forget that Miles earned the title of "The Mad Hatter" with some of the most gutsiest/sometimes bizarre playcalls in recent memory. His clock mismanagement hurt the national perception of him but I don't think anyone is denying that Les Miles is a fantastic football coach anymore.

you dont know that.....just like i dont know that if JJ plays the whole BCSNT game we lose...

see I can do it too...

Ummm, considering Jordan Jefferson was 6/10 for 67 yards and had 11 rushes for 43 yards (21 total touches for 110 yards) compared to Jarrett Lee's 3/7 for 24 yards and 2 INT's, I can safely say LSU would have lost with Lee playing the full game against Alabama.

Stats are your friend. Use them next time if you are attempting to make a compelling argument.
After Arkansas knocked LSU out of a BCS bowl last year, LSU should be ready for this one. I'll give Arkansas the benefit of the doubt and say they can hang around for a half against LSU, but the 2nd half is where we'll see the depth of LSU really come into play and wear down that Arkansas defense.

Ranked 70th at stopping the run giving up 164 ypg. Against the last 3 good rushing teams they have played they have given up 197 vs Bama, 381 vs A&M, and 291 vs Auburn.

Yea I see LSU rushing pretty well against them.

And Arkansas knows LSU will run the ball, so I expect them to make the QB's beat them with their arm. Arkansas is going to have to try some shots deep against LSU early and try to spread this defense around if they have any shot. It's important for them to start strong. If they don't, and LSU has a lead going into halftime, I don't see them losing.
Your logic is flawed. The main reason I support LSU/Bama in the NC Game (at this moment, this is a very fluid situation) is because those are clearly the two best teams in the country (1. LSU, 2. Alabama). The reason I can fill comfortable saying that is LSU has blown past every other opponent this season but were shut down by Bama's defense.

Also, there are no rules in the BCS that a team has to win their conference to make the championship game. Write a letter to the BCS committee arguing to have the rule implemented and then obviously Alabama wouldn't deserve to be in the game. But if the goal of the BCS is to put the two best teams on the field, then there's no doubt the two best teams in college football right now are LSU and Alabama.

But let's stop this talk about the NC game when there's no guarantee LSU will even make it there. They have two tough games left against another Top 5 opponent than a possible Top 10 opponent on the road.
When a "QB Controversy" results in the two disgruntled QB's combine to throw 8/8 105 yards 1 TD 0 INT and 26 yards rushing, I would say there isn't much of a controversy.

With this offense, it's not so much about the individual players' stats, but how the two perform overall that matters. If LSU continues to get that type of play from BOTH QUARTERBACKS, watch out.
Not at all. Jordan Jefferson was the starter for this team from the end of spring practice until his four game suspension. Jarrett Lee, the backup QB, came in and performed admirably. And honestly, coming from a senior QB with significant playing experience, that should have been expected.

In fact, I would say Les handled the situation better than any other coach in college football. If Les stays with Lee in that Bama game, LSU loses. Jordan Jefferson was the Offensive MVP of that game, and he's only improved since then.

This was always Jordan Jefferson's team and the other guys have seemed to really rally behind him in a big way.

Last night's game plan was brilliant and I believe that's how LSU should attack opposing defenses going forward. Jefferson and Lee don't have to be superstars. They just need to make plays (being perfect like they were last night sure helps) and don't put the defense in a tough situation.

How anyone can say Alabama is luckier than LSU is beyond me! Does everyone forget about 2007 all of sudden? Probably the luckiest a team got (losing twice in the same season yet making the BSC Championship Game).

If LSU takes care of business they'll be in New Orleans in early January for the title game for a virtual home game.

I'm more worried about LSU playing Arkansas, because honestly I think Arkansas will have the best case for playing in the NC game if they beat LSU next Friday. So that game will mean a lot for both, and Arkansas always plays LSU tough.

Plus, LSU has never had an undefeated season in my lifetime so I'm a little concerned that the weight and pressure of the situation might get to be too much in these last three games.

At the moment LSU/Bama looks like the NC Game though. But really, playing in NOLA, I don't see anyone having a chance to beat LSU if they take care of business and end up in the BCS Championship Game.

LSU has set the bar so high for themselves that if they were to lose to any of their next 3 (potentially) SEC games, they shouldn't be in contention. And I can agree with that. This won't be an issue if LSU wins out. If they do, no one can deny that they are the best team in the nation. But until then, it wouldn't make for good entertainment to hear "LSU is the best team in the nation. Let's make them national champions right now."

And with the 1-loss argument, what looks better in the "computer's mind": an Alabama or Oregon loss to LSU or an LSU loss to either Ole Miss/Arkansas/Georgia?

Exactly. People shouldn't read anything into what happened against a Western Kentucky football team. Also, the game was Homecoming, and Jordan Jefferson has led the team the majority of the time he's been at LSU. He deserved to start the game, especially after saving the team against Alabama.

The two QB system worked in every game besides Alabama, and I think we can all agree that that game was an oddity, not the norm for LSU this season. If LSU wants win out, they will start Jarret Lee at QB for the remainder of the season with Jordan Jefferson coming in for 20-30 snaps a game (he's too good of a threat not to use him).

Les Miles knows this and won't allow any talk radio fodder to rattle his team's focus going forward. Yet if we continue to let this be a "controversy," I could very well see LSU losing to either Arkansas or Georgia in the SEC Championship Game.

havent made it over here since you guys beat us Saturday ( ). Im just curious who you want to see in NOLA.

Stanford?
Okie st?
Oregon?
Bama?
Boise?
Oklahoma?

We dont deserve it. I would love to see LSU vs Stanford or Les vs his former team. Tired of watching OU lose to every team.

Fixed that for you. I agree, Oklahoma should not set foot in the Super Dome this year after losing to Texas Tech. Oregon, Alabama had their chance to play in the NC, but lost to LSU, so they're out. Boise State has only played Georgia, they shouldn't make it. OK State plays in a conference without a championship game.

I think Stanford, if they run the table, will have absolutely earned the right to play in the National Championship, even if OK State also is undefeated.

If LSU is the only undefeated team and there are a bunch of 1 loss teams, I would feel more inclined to say LSU should play another conference champion, but then again I would be totally OK with Alabama playing, because in all likelihood they are the second best team in the nation.
No, the game between Oregon and Stanford Saturday will most likely decide who's playing in the NORTH division in the Pac 12. I believe UCLA controls their own destiny in the SOUTH division after the upset of Arizona State last Saturday.

I see OK State losing at least one game this year, while I think Stanford has a great chance of getting passed Oregon and running the table. If they do, there's no doubt in my mind a Pac 12 champion Stanford should play in the NC game over a 1 loss Alabama team.

As long as LSU wins out, it's going to be a 3 team race for the #2 ranking. I only see Alabama, Stanford and OK State having a legitimate shot at making it to the NC game. Everyone else is playing for an automatic BCS bowl birth.

To be fair, perhaps future opponents can look at this tape for ways to slow down the LSU QBs/offense. Now, it is two totally different things to acknowledge and understand how to slow down an offense and to execute that game plan.
