I don't believe in those stars; it's too hard to evaluate an athlete at one high school playing one level of competition to another athlete playing different schools. And I think it's more how you use the talent you've got than anything else. Somewhere I read Mathieu was a 2 star and now a Heisman finalist. And Shepherd was 5 star I'm told and doesn't seem to get used much.

A few years ago the Alabama coach, Dubose, said "Everyone's got players and everyone's got talent, but it's the ones who make the plays."

That said, I felt drained when that Collins boy said on TV he was going to Alabama. And the Kiel loss hurt, too; I had visions of him watching the BCS game imagining himself in four years in Lee's spot.

GenuineLSU,
I am a nitwit.
However, I am not so dimwitted that I fail to recognize sarcasm...

i agree with the gist of your posts, but have to disagree with one point - we have not been squeezing every ounce out of our wide receivers. miles has been squandering offensive talent for years. and i don't blame the qb's. we could've done more even so.

but this was a good class.
