He is a TRUE freshmen and is forced into playing time do to the bone head coach that we kept around here for God knows how long. Well maybe the keeping it to his senior year was a bit much, but can we give this kid a break. Believe in Johnson or we starting to give up on this guy already.

I also would love to hear of an instate big better than Ludwig last year. I have only seen 1.5 games (on TV) this year, but I have zero problem with Ludwig getting PT considering the depth of the team this year and he is a freakin' freshman! He should get more aggressive with more PT - most players do - and I guarantee you that you will see plenty of guys in the SEC this year getting floor time who are no better than Ludwig. The SEC just isn't supposed to be that good this year. Damn, we got some people who are crazy hard on our players.

One thing that would Ludwig (and others on this team) is if he would at least look at the basket. He has a soft touch and it would be so helpful as the season progresses if this team could find some points from someone not named Mitchell, Warren, or Spencer.

A. John Brady has nothing to do with how bad Eddie Ludwig is

B. I don't hate Eddie Ludwig, I just think we could have used his scholarship a lot more viably.

C. Trent is a very good coach. He showed that last year. Everyone knows this year is a down year talent-wise. All of that said, Ludwig is still pretty bad, even for a freshman.

Kendrick Washington is a big bull with no basketball skill. His best offer was from Houston, which is where he is now. No SEC offers. Obviously, other coaches agreed with Trent Johnson on his analysis.

He was the third best big man in the state, in possibly the weakest year for Louisiana talent I have ever seen.

Ludwig didn't have any other SEC offers, did he?

I may be wrong. I know Cal offered him.

Honestly, the guy needs a redshirt. I just don't see him ever contributing more than a scratch basket here and there. Hell, give Kinsley that scholarship for a year, he's a better player.

I did say in my analysis that Eddie had a poor game, but that being said, he is my favorite player on the team...

I joke from the student section for him to shoot everytime he gets the ball. I began liking him as soon as i saw him come off the bench and just play hard. Gives hope to white kids like me that hustle and hard work may be enough.

He does open up some things for other people, but I don't like the way we run our offense when he is in. We normally just put him at the free throw line and make him run around in circles. Even when he catches the ball it is in no way possible for him to make an athletic move.

I will also say he made the only bounce pass inside against ULL. We need to learn how to use the bounce pass.

Eddie needs the PT. He can contribute.

Who would you have taken instead of him? There was no one left in state and I highly doubt out of state that wanted to come to LSU under such short terms of recruiting and getting a new coach.

Nice. So, now we are recruiting kids that "don't score".

Storm didn't score last year (2 ppg), you think we shouldn't have recruited him?

This kid is not even 10 games into his college career, and I doubt he'll turn into more than a role player, but you have to be willing to let it play out. We have some regular John Woodens on this fricking board.

Ludwig's a true freshman and I can see the potential. At the end of next season we'll have a better idea of how good a signing he was.

If he ends up being not so hot, then we'll also have to look at Matt Derenbecker and determine if it was worth it to draft his teammate. Package deal?

Are Ludwig and Dotson Trent's only scholarship signees on this roster? Everyone else is from the other guy right?

Except for Chris Bass. Trent took him late in the signing class when Morgan was cut loose.

Bass, Dotson, and Ludwig. I think Warren, Harris, and Graham had the option to bounce when Brady got the shite can but Graham's brother told me they all really liked Trent so in a way you could say he won them over too.

I meant to say "SEC-level" offers. Yes, California is what I was referring to.

Not a scrub team. Currently ranked No. 25 in USA Today poll.

Yes, and I remember people questioning why he was signed as well.

Dotson will be a player. He's coming off a pretty major injury and he can shoot the rock. He's struggled so far but he's only played fricking six games at the collegiate level.

I always thought he was overrated. Thought he was in high school. I enjoy the debate, but seriously, to whomever believes he should be given a "break"...he's on the same field of criticism as every other D1 athlete. He knew what he was getting into when he signed the scholarship...If I want to be critical of him, I will. If he plays better, I'll applaud him, but right now, he's a weakness on the floor.
