Jarrett Lee was thrown out there in 2008

We HAD to in '08. Different story than this year.

This is why people complain when BH doesn't get significant playing time in the SHSU and ULM rent-a-wins...time for him to develop without costing us a game. This is the last gimme team to "develop" BH before 7 straight SEC games.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. But our QB situation right now is broke as frick, so adjustment is needed.

Yeah, safe for both teams, unfortunately. Sure, he won't turn it over, but he also isn't likely to produce much, either. So really, what are you risking? I'd prefer the guy who has a higher potential of producing, regardless of the fact that he may make a few mistakes along the way.

This is a lost season and the coaching staff needs to accept it. Split time with AJ and BH so you don't ruin BH. Start experimenting with more spread concepts throughout the year to play to BH's skill sets. Pray it all comes togetger for an upset over A&M to cap off the season on a positive note.

I thought we had came to the conclusion that gelling can no longer be an excuse. Hell they had the last 2 years to gel. At this point is has to be scheme, play calling, and/or a lack of talent in a few spots

Those 3 snaps against Wisky including 2 handoffs told you he wasn't ready?

Or was it his 4/5 against SHS that showed you he wasn't ready?

Actually the snaps in the ULM game shown he wasn't quite ready for prime time. Harris seems to be very good under certain conditions that LSU's OL can't seem to mandate.

Grimes should've had control of this already before SEC play.
The Center line up call is awful and an experienced QB is needed to sort it and over-ride.
The soph QB is having a hard time and I doubt frosh is any better, but it's possible.

The "safe with the ball" shite is outstanding. When you are playing a team that is moving the ball and scoring on you, what the frick is "safe with the ball" going to get you?

Answer: Down 34-10 at home through 3 quarters.

Criminy! What does Brandon Harris have to do with Jarrett Lee? There is not so much time in college to learn. What better way to learn than through experience?

Nah. Let's just give the ball to the running backs and let the awesome O-line clear the way.

Jennings is a whopping 1 year older and has an entire 3 games experience advantage over a more talented Harris. And in those games he has struggle to perform.

Tell me again why you think Harris would be a dancing move.

Jarrett Lee was a redshirt freshman who was just a gunslinger. For every guy that threw 16 ints in 8 games with 6 picks as a redshirt freshman, I can give you two redshirt freshman heisman winners, a true sophomore heisman winner, the all time SEC passing leader, heisman candidate at Oregon, heisman candidate at UCLA, heisman candidate at Ohio State, etc, etc, etc.

Jarrett Lee is one of the worst examples you could have used. I listed 6 TRUE freshman QBs just last year who did waaaay better than Lee, and wasn't terrified of the big stage.

We at LSU, have been looking for a first year starting savior in our passing game for forever. How can so many other top programs obtain it, but not us?

So quick these people forget what happened to Lee. I'm all for getting harris work but I don't want to destroy his psyche his first year.

Goff wasn't one of them. He had to take some big lumps himself. The rest of the list looked good.

I have my doubts, yes. However, to just hand that to Harris right now and say "hey kid, go beat Auburn all by yourself as the #1 QB" would be a bit irresponsible at this moment....just because I think that the coaches think that he isn't quite ready for ALL of that challenge just yet.

Good God man, plenty of QBs are doing it now. I literally listed 6 true freshman QBs last year who did well.

I believe what we have on our hands here is more that the team rally's behind the better player at QB, see Rohan Davey and Josh Booty for example. When Davey came in the Line blocked better and the defense played inspired.

I really did not see Harris play defense last weekend, and I am pretty sure our defense was still going against the #1 offense. No matter how vanilla the play calling became. Just my opinion.

But you do make a good point.

lee had a LOT of bad habits
throwing off his back foot was one when pressure got close because he wanted to avoid any contact

What we did in the last several games with AJ was essentially throwing him to the wolves.

Being safe with the ball will lose us many games this year. WE CAN NOT RUN ON ANYBODY IN THE SEC. Our defense is not stout at all. We will lose if we play close to the vest. We will lose if we continue to run with 7, 8, 9 in the box. This isn't like previous years, we can not impose our will on teams with equal or even slightly less talent. We cannot rely on the defense to hold people under 20 so we can win by three.

After four games, their is not one team on our schedule that I could see us running well enough on to secure a win. I do see a lot of shitty secondaries though. We need to utilize the four studs we have in the passing game, and Jennings, so far at least, seems like he can't do that. Harris needs the entire first half this week. He needs 25 passes this week.

God man I am so tired of seeing these young guns given the go ahead to sling the rock around, while we play with our feet. I would not mind if we had the typical great run game, I would not mind if we had the typical good defense, but we don't. We will continue to be gashed up the middle, and we will continue to not be able to run effectively on anybody who is not a creampuff.

To put it over dramatically, with the way Miles likes to play, we are walking straight to our death. I mean right off a fricking cliff into the abyss.
