But Miles had a chance to put his stamp on the LSU program and to finally silence the critics forever. But not only did we lose to Nick Saban and Alabama, we got humiliated and Les Miles didn't even seem to give his team a chance.
This is what these suck up fans never seem to get.
It isn't that LSU lost to Bama in the BCSNCG. Bama is a damned good team and Saban and staff are damned good coaches, hell it happens.
It was the way they lost.....never showed up after putting on the worst offensive performance in championship history. Do you aholes get that? It's going to take some people a while and a bunch of friggin' wins to get over that.
I was at the Bash and it was very subdued and quiet because people are not over that display of offensive coaching futility on the 9th.

quote:No, I'm not looking for a different coach. I'm looking for *CLM to deal with his approach to coaching a little differently. It sounds like he hijacked the OC's game plan and installed what surely looked like a "play not to lose" strategy in its place. Which against Saban/Bama is a ticket to lose. If that is true or mostly true, it would explain a lot. It says to me Miles was feeling a huge amount of stress/pressure about this game and lost all perspective and nerve, lacked confidence in his coaching staff and (other than JJ) QBs. So he did the one thing that would make sense in a nonsensical situation like that - he froze (aka 'choked') and couldn't make logical choices. Even when ordinary people like me could see that what he had the team doing on offense was going nowhere, he froze into inaction and allowed the worst possible outcome to be the only possible outcome. And we saw it - lucky it was only 21-0, but then our Defense still kept us close enough going into the 4th quarter...
a different coach.

Not to mention that for 3 years we watched Les Miles overvalue the play of one particular player, and many Tiger fans worst fears came to fruition on that one night for four long, unsubstituted quarters.

There are several reason why fans are down on LSU.
First, there are the LSU fans who have Jan Complex when it comes to Bama.
LSU fans have heard about Bama for forever. The media slobs Bama's knob. Every year it's Bama, Bama, Bama. Every year it's Saban, Saban, Saban.
These LSU fans are mad because LSU had a chance to silence Bama fans, the media, and everyone in the world . . . but LSU failed to deliver.
Second, there are LSU who are hurting because their expectations were dashed. The fall hurt so bad because the expectations were so high.
Third, there are LSU fans who finally have a chance to shite on Miles after having to be silent or muffled while LSU went 13-0. Those fans are shouting from the rooftops about (1) how they saw this coming, (2) how they were always right, and (3) how they will always be right.

That's right. I don't want him fired, I don't need an explanation or him apologizing.
It's just going to take another season of football starting to move on for a lot of people. It's just not the fans, looking at a bunch of the players comments, they are still kind of at a loss as well. Jump their asses too then when they comment on it.

Yes, we get it. We're not Aholes and we're not blind. What is your solution? Keep beating down the coaches and team or move on? You're other option is to get a new coach. I don't see much better going on out there in college football but maybe i am missing something.

Yep. I don't get into the Lee vs JJ argument and I won't here. But no matter what QB or RB or linemen or mascot they had out there on the 9th, with that gameplan, there was no winning that game.

Someone started the thread and I posted. I haven't started one "Miles is an ahole and should be fired" thread.
I have quietly moved on.....until someone posts a thread about not understanding how some people are mad at such a fine coach as Les Miles. Then I may post.

I hate Saban and wish him the worst ... I especially do not like him as person.
I do respect Miles as a person and was a strong supporter however after the incredibly poor coaching job he did in front of God and country I think he handled the game like an idiot high school coach. I am not as confident as many about the coming year. I think this team wonders why their leader handled things so poorly, no plan B like every decent coach should have. It wasn't just a couple of bad decsions it was how handled the whole situation.

Hell no you don't fire a sec champ coach. But he has shown very little class over the last year. Screwing the whole team by sticking with you know who, embarrassing JL, and now calling out kids for college decisions. Its not JJs fought he was fricking terrible and the worst qb to ever play in a bcsnc/sec championship. It's miles's fought for playing him. Luckily JJ is finished and we never have to see that shite again. I will smile all next season, starting in the spring game. I don't care who the qb is, I won't complain because it will be better than JJ no matter what.

If that was Clemson, Auburn, or Arizona State with Alabama's resume going up against Oklahoma State's resume, you can bet your house that LSU would have played Oklahoma State for the national title.

You've addressed the 'minority' of LSU fans. Those vocal fans are just a hand full of Tiger fans out there and most land on these boards. But they do get the most attention.
I dont think so. The majority of fans out there don't even know what a message board is and they think Miles is a fricking idiot and Saban is a genius a-hole, imho

Jump off the Bandwagon you negatards...LSU doesn't want you and certainly doesn't need you.

Nick Saban has made Alabama a more attractive place for prospective recruits, remember that this is Les Miles strongest attribute. Alabama has won 2 National Titles in the last 3 years. LSU has gone 1-2 in bowl games and finished outside of the top 10 in 2 of those 3 years. It's not a complex, it's reality.
But why in the hell is it always being compared to Bama?? They beat everybody........LSU beat them in the "Game of the Century" and then Bama got very fortunate to get a 2nd chance (they did not deserve, IMO)
Saban has been f******* LSU since he departed for Miami and that is a lot of the issue here. Bad enough he had to go to a rival in our division.
Miles really needs to put the hammer on em in 2012

I should also hypothesise that the fans down on Les and the program right now most likely have penises that are below average in size. They tend to have an inferiority complex.
So you're gonna go full juvenile and expect people to take you seriously in this discussion?
Again, if what you're saying is the case, then the same could be said about the fans who are down on the LSU fanbase right now.

LOL at the mental midgets who want to characterize ever Les Miles critique as somehow being relative to Alabama and Saban. You don't need to make that comparison, the crtiques stand on their own merits. The comparisons to Saban are from simpletons who need an us vs. them mentality to make a point.
Posted on 2/3/12 at 10:51 am to Springlake Tiger
I'm down on Les Miles because Nick Saban made him quit on January 9th.
If Miles would have put up a fight, I would be ecstatic about next year. But, him quitting has me worried that it could happen again.

No reason to move on until Miles explains why he didn't really show up in the game
