quote:

"Raise your hand if you played with as much passion and emotion as you ever have in a football game," Brown says, then looks out and counts the hands. There were six. "How much do you like being at Texas and like being a football player?" Brown continues. "Some of you like being at Texas more than you've earned the right to be here. "I was embarrassed for myself. I was embarrassed for some of my coaches, not all. I was embarrassed for some of you players, not all. … It was kind of embarrassing. "Boy, I'm scared. I'm worried about this team. I'm worried about it. "We've got some entitlement in this room. Got to get that fixed. Got some selfishness in this room. Got to get that fixed. This isn't Texas football. "What concerns me, we've got guys in this room who have won too easy. … You're ranked the fifth-best team in the country, and we just played OK. We have not earned that ranking."

All he's worried about is the ranking?

Well, when you can find every quote that Miles has made, then you compare them to Brown's...come back to us.

if you sprinkled the word "physicality" in a few times, i could totally here him say that.

especially the "we gotta get that fixed" part.

texas pretty much dominated rice, yet MB layed into his players after the game because he knew they were capable of more. have you ever, i mean EVER seen miles chew out a player?? he'd rather yell at a ref all game with an incredulous look in his face.

No, they didn't.

Yes, I have.

Besides, the mark of a good coach is not if he chews out his players, or not.

MANY would argue that Brown, with all the talent that the state of Texas produces, has VASTLY underachieved there.

EVER see Bowden or Paterno chew out a player. How about Bryant, Shula, Landry. Maybe they chew them out in private, just like Brown did (if there were not all access cameras there).

So you are quoting a coach who has won exactly 1 national title in his lifetime. In how many seasons? Cherry picking the best talent from one for the biggest states in the country. Mack can thank a super human performance by Vince Young for the one he got.

Well said dranknpurple - because that is what is the true estimate of a coach - the fact that he can get into a player's face and chew him out on national television.

In fact he should make the player cry and make him feel miserable enough to force him to leave the team if possible - everything during the same 5 seconds that the camera is on them.
