I notice the posters that have been around for years supporting the program.

I just didn't agree with you being lumped in with "the usual suspects".

I’m just nervous about the game tomorrow

I’m strangely relaxed. LSU “shouldn’t” win tomorrow so the pressure is off. Hoping the team rides the “us against the world” mentality to a championship, but the 2nd rd 1-seed match up is not ideal.

Oh I have no problem with his original post. He has definitely been around.

Wasn’t necessarily talking about him.

More complicated does not equate to better. Matt Canada's presnap motions come to mind for comparison.

We run a bunch of ISO because we have the scorers capable of punishing teams by doing that. We also run set plays and motions, but the ISO is more prevalent with us than some other teams because we have more than one (more than two and even three) primary scoring options from night to night.

You should know by now, don't critique anything Wade does.

the OP isn’t wrong, i’ve noticed the same thing. Other teams run much more motion and make crisper, faster cuts and ball movement.

Illinois ran the exact same iso offense as LSU all game and struggled, and their coach made no adjustments. And they lost badly.

Loyola literally has the #1 scoring defense in the NCAA.

“Wade’s offense” scored 72 points in the last 31 minutes of the game. Fn pathetic!!!

1) Illinois wanted to play through their big man on the low block. LSU almost never does that.

2) Loyola hard hedged/trapped the ball handler on the pick and roll and Illinois had no idea how to counter it. We eat that coverage up routinely because our primary screener is a 40% 3 point shooter.

my point is when it's not working, we need to do something else, with more movement.

Illinois didn't deviate from their offense, which is our exact same offense. But they weren't hitting their 3s, didn't change a thing, and lost badly.

I don't want the same thing to happen to us.

then maybe Illinois' coach should've had the good sense to try something different, after 30+ minutes of it not working.

But he didn't. And also didn't try anything different on the defensive end. Really poor coaching.

Underwood definitely got outcoached. Completely agree with you there

LSU has scored less than 75 only 4 times this season

Only 2 of our losses have happened when opponent scores less than 80

That poster wants Wade fired, he has a clear agenda and a clear lack of basketball knowledge. Just saying.

What does this have to do with LSU?

have you noticed how many teams that run a lot of "high ball screens" as you call it have netted empty possessions? I bet you haven't charted that in all of your basketball viewing.

You just see four guys doing a half court weave and think you're seeing something

I don’t agree with this per se. I’ve seen a lot of teams in the tournament playing a lot of iso and winning with it. It just depends on your personnel.

the OP was talking about watching other teams and seeing more motion on offense.

And I was commenting on NOT seeing that from Illinois (which runs the same iso offense as LSU).

That's the connection.

Except they didn’t run that at all today. They repeatedly tried to throw the ball in to Cockburn.

LSU almost never throws the ball into the low post.
