Emery isn't playing because of what any smart person would've known before the season, he's a freshman. Before the season, it was very clear to me that CEH would be our featured back. And he's proven why.

Are you claiming "it's already come out that Burrow told him to get off the field" though?
Because, regardless of whether JE blew an assignment, there are half a dozen things Burrow's gesture could actually mean at the conclusion of that play.

Yep....it was a screen play. You can see the LSU lineman looking back wondering where the heck is Emery. In the meantime Joe is dodging D/L instead of throwing a screen pass to Emery. In a split second Burrow realizes the screwup and makes the decision to start running. You can see Emery standing there watching the play develop and he knows he just screwed up.
What can I say...he's a freshman. He'll catch on eventually.
