This is completely untrue. I trained in high school with 3 guys who transitioned from Smoke to Mainieri, I’m currently friends with another who played recently for Mainieri, and I loosely know several other guys who played between 2011 and 2015, and not a single one of them liked Mainieri.
He’s a total frickhead and I’ve met him personally in a baseball environment. The guy has a fake nice voice for the media and acts like a little miserable dick as soon as the camera isn’t on him. No one in the program loves him, you’re a moron and don’t know what you’re talking about

Here’s another one.
They both won a championship a few years after taking over, and they both got smoked in a championship a few years before it was brutally clear they need to go. Hopefully LSU will complete the similarity and replace CPM soon.

Trust me the rest of the SEC hopes we keep him. The man single handledly removed everything that was badass about LSU baseball. Our edge is gone.
We need a complete rebuild.
I‘be wanted Paul gone since his first season. Every fiber of my being knew he was wrong for LSU. I support every coach on LSU’s campus always have. But Paul is bad for the program and I cannot wait until he retires.

I’m not sure why you started this topic, but it wasn’t needed or meets what you intended. Nobody cares what the rest of the world thinks about CPM. His performance has been subpar for the last two seasons. I gave him a pass due to injuries and other issues like roster transition. However, at some point those can’t be passes any longer. I’ll keep supporting him and the club until the end of the season and grade their performance collectively once it is done.
If it is a season with less than 45 wins with this pitching staff and no CWS appearance I think he should go.
As CPM would tell you, pretty losses are not acceptable.
