Iowa fan here. For Christmas, my oldest brother and I told our other brother to pick a SEC game and we would take him. He chose Alabama at LSU next season. I think we have all of the travel mostly figured out, but looking for any advice on tickets. Best to get them now on Stubhub, wait till closer to the game, try to go through the university? Obviously it will be a hot ticket, but any advice would be helpful. Also, if anyone has suggestions for bars, restaurants, tailgating or places to go in Baton Rouge that weekend it would be much appreciated.

Seriously doubt that LSU will have any for sale through the ticket office .. it'll be "sold out".

Many here would say to wait until game day and that they've gotten tickets for under face value and they may have, BUT I don't take chances ... you can try Ticket Marketplace on TD (be careful) OR you can try the ticket office link to I think it's Stub Hub where season ticket holders can sell theirs.

With a new coach comes renewed excitement .. too early to tell how tickets on game day will go at this point.

Have a great time.

The LSU ticket office for that game is a futile effort. Your best bet is Stub Hub or other ticket service, or check the Ticket Exchange Board on this site.

Your bar, restaurant and tailgate choices depend on the age range of your group, and maybe your lodging location to some extent.

Staying fairly close to campus so we can check everything out. We're all in our 30s so we're not necessarily looking to hit up the college bars every night. Want to try local establishments and avoid chains for any restaurants.

Stubhub/secondary markets will be your best bet, but I wouldn't worry about buying them until September/October.

Make sure you wear your Iowa gear. That is a guarantee to get fed at many of the awesome tailgates around campus

Whenever I am traveling I make sure I have tickets in hand. Because one time at Georgia we we were unable to get tickets and wound up having to bribe a gate agent to get into the game

Not for this game if both teams are in the hunt going into the game. I buy my tix in the secondary market and I paid in the range of $400 per ticket the past three times I have gone in both LSU and Tuscaloosa...
