Way too early to make that assumption. He certainly will be on the roster all of the 2024 season. He’s not leaving before the season starts. Bad take. He will be competing for QB2 all summer.

Collins will never start at LSU. I expect him to exit by the end of Summer or at the end of the season at the latest.

Same was said about TJ Finley but then he beat SC

Looks like we have Seniors and Juniors starting at every position except for our Center. Very experienced team this year.

Good job! But I’m going with Womack winning a job at DE!

Some concerns:

We are thiiiiin at QB. I personally don't think Swan is a competent backup, but you really have no choice but to go with him because nobody else has game experience. Just pray Nuss stays healthy.

If you go back to last year and look at any game footage, it's pretty clear that Greg Penn, Major Burns, and Sage Ryan should not be expected to do much if we trot them out there.

Yes, the entire defense was abysmal last year, but those 3 were truly god-awful. Always out of position, horrific tackling, and just looking lost out there. They're also all veteran guys - it's time to move on from them.

Other than that, I'm pretty stoked about the offense. I think we're gonna be able to impose our will in the running game with this O line and the diversity of speed and power in that RB room. Which is going to open up the passing game for Nuss where he has a multitude of weapons from WR to TE.

Going to be a fun season in my opinion.

Will depend on who plays the run better between him and Swinson. But Kelly talked a lot about Womack leading up to the bowl game, saying he needs to/is stepping up as a leader and would be really counted on to step up and be a big part of this year's defense. He played a ton in the bowl. I think a lot of that was trying to make sure he felt valued and to keep him out of the portal.

Now that was before he hired Baker, so he may not have been sure about the scheme and whether or not him and Swinson would be playing the same position. Regardless, I think they both play a ton. There will probably be rush packages where 1 lines up at WDE with his hand in the dirt and the other is standing up on the other side of him as the 5th DL. Some plays they'lll all rush, others one will drop back in coverage and maybe we bring Perk or Burns at the star to come on a delayed blitz from the strong side. Probably be packages where Savion slides inside and Swinson flips over to the SDE.

We don't have a lot of relative size on the DL and aren't gonna just stone team's running games on sheer size and strength. And we're inexperienced at a lot of spots, especially the backups. But what we do have are a lot of really good and versatile athletes that Baker can use creatively in a variety of ways. I think we win by taking chances with some exotic looks, stunts, blitzes from all over the field including a lot of run blitzes, etc...We're gonna sacrifice potentially giving up big plays in order to hopefully produce a lot more sacks, TFLs, and turnovers. Have to be willing to give up a 30 yard play if the opposing team recognizes it, blocks it well, and executes it in order to get a 1st down sack or TFL and put them behind the sticks at 2nd and 14+.

I just don't think we have the guys yet to be a "bend but don't break" defense that makes a team have put together methodical, 10 play drives down the field. We're gonna gamble. Will lead to more 3 and outs, FFs, and interceptions. Will also lead to long runs on big holes if they happen to call the right play against what we called. Will lead to long completions downfield when they get some 1 on 1s if we can't get home on rush. But I think that's the correct way to do it with the guys we have.

The key, though, will be that we HAVE to tackle. Can't let a 30 yard run or catch turn into a 60 yard TD because our backend whiffs on tackles like they did all last year. I know it's an injury gamble and not how it's done in 2024, but I think we have to do a lot more live tackling in camp, especially with the DBs. USC is gonna get their yards. We can't give them extra ones because we're live tackling for the 1st time.

I agree about Womack. And I think/hope Dominic McKinley will be in the mix. One other takeaway: we’ve gotta have the best tightend group in the country. Serious talent there.

PJ Woodland isn’t starting at 165lbs over Johnson and Toviano.

Johnson is trash he was horrible in the spring game last year and was running 3rd team this past spring

We have the best O-line starters in the nation ...

but one thing I'm just noticing is that no one on that line better get hurt.
