Flyby during National Anthem

Close...Bama 2005. It was awesome.
Now THAT'S a FLYOVER!!!
I was there... it brought goosebumps!

I was there as well at Bama in 2005 and it was awesome to say the least.
It also didn't hurt that J Russ threw the game winning TD. Such a shame that he got all that up front money wasn't willing to work to be the best anymore. What a knuckle head.

I was the firth seat next to the aisle that splits the goal posts. It was literally straight over me. Coolest thing I have ever seen.
AMERICA!

(I don't think there is a single airworthy specimen in the US.)
I don't know why you say this. The F-86 is a legendary aircraft. I've seen an f-86 demonstration at an airshow before, so there are most definitely functioning examples still.

Didn't know any were still flying. The airframes are all 55 to 60 years old. Jets do not age gracefully.

Certainly, no argument here.

I've been mistaken before. I saw a flying B-17 last year in St. Louis, and not an airshow either, just flying around. That's one I called home about because, cliche or not, you literally cannot see that every day.

Florida '09 was pretty slick, too. Two F-15s came in over Tiger Stadium from the North, but they were being all stealthy like and running without forward lights. About a quarter mile out, they flipped on the running lights and put the jets into burn so they came screaming out of nowhere with 30 feet of fire shooting out of the back and were going places in a hurry.
My memory of exactly when they timed it is fuzzy, but I think it was right after the anthem right when the crowd went nuts. The most awesome part is that I do clearly remember thinking, "Holy crap, Tigerstuckinms, you just had two military jets in afterburn pass within 1500 feet of you, and you couldn't hear them because 94,000 of your closest friends are currently losing their minds."
I figured there'd be a flyby that game, so I was looking for the jets. However, if I didn't know there was going to be one, it's entirely possible that I'd have been completely oblivious that a pair of 15s just zipped by.
Then, Florida happened.

Gosh, please don't insult the F-4 Phantom, a Mach 2.5 plus interceptor by comparing it with a British trainer. Those are clearly T-45's. I watch planes from the 19th floor flying around New Orleans out of the Belle Chasse Naval Airstation just across the river. All I have ever seen are F-15s and F-18s with a few unknowns; since I don't pay as much attention as I used to because of disgust with the acquisition of the F-18s (second place to the F-16) instead of a custom-designed, high-performance, long-distance naval jet like the F-14. I usually can't get to my window fast enough because they fly near the speed of sound. But I can hear them coming around, and sometimes I am rewarded.
I hope some pilots can set me straight and build my confidence in the F-18.
Disgusting that Obama is trying regulate Boeing out of business.

I believe they were instructed to fly higher because last year it was really loud and they were a lot closer. For safety reasons I think it was made clear to not fly that low again.
They are not allowed to fly below 1000 feet for safety reasons according to the Daily Reveille.

Damn, Krypto! That jet practically flew in and out of the stadium...think because it's AT NAVY he could go lower than usual?

Best fly overs are Bombers. I forget what game it was, bama 06 or something a B-52 flew way too low and rocked the stadium, it was awesome....couldnt hear people screaming next to you.
That was a KC-135.

I'm honestly scratching my head on this one....not any fighter or attack plane that i recognize, probably a pair of trainers...
That was my impression as well.
I was disappointed at the first sight of them TBH.
On an unrelated note, is it basically impossible that we ever get a -52 to pass by?

What about that chopper that flew over Alex Box the year before last. Or maybe it was last year? Anyway that thing could not have been more than a 100 ft. Anyone got a video of that?

You've got to be kidding me!!!
Ooops. Sorry for Germans post.
Here is a B52 from Barksdale, Fly-over the Independence bowl.
B52 Independence Bowl (from the cockpit)
B52 Independence Bowl (from the stands)
and my favorite, a highspeed pass.
Look at the wing span!

Some of those guys got in pretty big trouble for that one. Hence the reason not a lot of people like to do fly overs, and if they do they are like the one last saturday to stay out of trouble.
