Flush it - Skip

“After a player makes an error we tell him To "Flush it" Like down the toilet. In fact one game my Fall ball team had was so bad told the boys to go home and all flush the toilet...... went on a 4 game win streak.” - Skip
Skip would bring a miniature toilet to the dugout. Bertman’s message was ‘flush the last game.
Don’t dwell on the past. Today is a new day and a new game. Move on and let’s get it done now.

I heard skip actuallly took a dump in it made the boys look at it then flush

Part of me wondered last night if Jay would ever consider leaning on Skip for some advice or words of wisdom in a time like this
I’m not advocating for it, or think he needs to, but just wondered if it was something he’d do

Skip also said you’re going to give up a homerun…give up an absolute BOMB. Nothing worse than a homerun that was 1 foot away from being an out.
Used to have a “bomb ball” that was just a busted up baseball that a pitcher had to keep until someone else gave up a no doubter

I don’t think there is any doubt that Jay talks to Skip often. Skip is still extremely close to the program and Jay embraces it.

I tend to think that Skip would tell you that it’s not the same game as when he coached (hell, HE changed the game in his day 
) and that he lets Jay coach the game he wants to coach.
