Florida is not a "hinge" its the entire season. We are an elite program now and a trip anywhere other than the BCS National Championship game is a dissapointment. No more 90's Curley Hallman apologetic loser crap. Florida game is the difference between dominance and obscurity.

one could make the argument that we can lose at Florida and run the table and still end up in the SEC championship game. Right?

of course. If you are going to lose a conference game, make it against the other division, so you have the tie breaker within the division

To the original question, I think it is a huge game, but the entire month of October is huge. Beating Florida won't amount to anything if we lose at home to South Carolina and/or at TAMU

False. We can lose to either UF or USCe as long as we beat bama we would still win the west and if we win the sec we will be in Miami. So it is not a hinge the way the Bama game is.

I think the biggest thing to lose with UF is momentum/confidence. We technically could lose and stay in the hunt, but if we lose I see a 3 loss season coming down the pipeline. Ultimately, let's win that game, the rest of the games, and head down to Miami!

I understand divisional play. I was making an assumption that a loss to Florida would, in my mind, mean that we aren't on the elite level to take care of business. I know every game is not played on paper.

A loss would throw all the rantards in a whirl wind. Would have to lock the rant down for a week!

A loss to Florida and Alabama may send this guy over the edge. 40 seconds into the show you hear a LSU chant. This is a Alabama show. I know how he feels b/c I live among the gumps!

well we lost to an ok uf team in 03, lost to uk and ark in 07, Uf lost to ole miss in 08 and Bama lost to LSU in 11.

We could still win big and falter down the stretch, or we can lose and still go all the way.

The game is the bama game. dont win that and they arent in Atlanta. We can lose to UF and beat bama and we go because of head to head.

Not so fast my friend. If a Pac12 team (e.g., Oregon) and an ACC team (e.g., FSU) both go undefeated do you think a one loss SEC team would exclude one of them in the CG? I don't. If there are no undefeated teams, then a one loss SEC team is in IMO.

I agree, the scary part is, so far mettenberger has looked like JJ without the mobility. We have some holes on defense yet to be exposed until we play a real offense, and miles has no confidence in his offense, why would he not go for it on fourth down against Auburn(needed 6 inches) with our stable of running backs.I feel like we lose to Florida by two touchdowns,we may get by South Carolina, but lets not kid ourselves with Bama.I hoped this would be our year, but it doesnt look good so far.I hope things turn around quick!

You know very well that CLM never gives the media or talk shows the honest truth. He has some tricks up his sleeve in the weeks to come.

Mett has lots of maturing to do but he looks a lot better passing than did JJ. The potential is there. This team needs to gel.

As for losing by two TD's to UF, it's possible, but unless there's a huge turnover disparity or innjury that's hard to imagine. Our DL is going to make life miserable for everyone we play.

We still win it all with a loss in the swamp and we run the table. We have to win 1 out of 2 bt Florida and SC.

First off, I don't for a second think either one of the those teams will get through unscathed. Remember, Oregon likely has to play USC or Stanford twice. FSU will drop a game along the way. They always do.

Either way, I actually do believe that a 1 loss SEC Champion LSU with that loss being on the road at UF would go ahead of one of those teams. I think the SEC has earned that right.
