I am an idiot. I just read my post. I am about 40 miles west of Des Moines, not east. Close to Adair.

I think the best seat in the house is the couch/recliner in BR. It's cheap, effective, dry, without sun in my eyes...

When I was a boy, I watched the circus on TV. It was pretty good. Then, someone TOOK me to the circus. There was NO comparison. And anyone who has been to Omaha knows that watching it on TV is not even a close second to actually being there in Rosenblatt Stadium. The CWS is a terrific experience. Next year, I recommend getting off the couch and travelling to Omaha.

As for tickets, there were many reserved seats available outside the stadium at face value. You just had to get there early and be persistent.

Well said.

Yes they did have reserved tickets. I got in line at 7am and then found out that the window opened at 12 instead of 10.

My fiancee went with me to CWS this year and loved it. She wants to go every year. I watched the LSU/UNC game on TV; she watched some crap in the other room because she can't stand baseball on TV.

I've made it to the Softball College World Series but not the baseball. I'll hopefully make it up there in the next few years

It seems like there are a lot of transplanted Louisianians up there who are in the military. I don't remember the name but, there is a pretty big airforce base near Omaha. The beer tent across from the stadium was a great place to meet. After the first rain out, we even got to watch people slide down the muddy hill leading up to the beer counter.

I've found that people here love to listen and ask questions about living in LA.
