First FB game of 2010 - North Carolina?

Longtime reader, second-time poster... if there has already been a thread about this, I do apologize for wasting your time...
I was talking to a friend on the team the other day who said Miles asked the team to vote on it and they said yes... it will be first game of the season on national television... has anyone heard anything?

Have not heard anything about that. That would be a nice team to open up with IMO.

could be the sec vs. acc thing they have had the last few years in atlanta with bama against clemson and va tech

Unless something has changed since I last read it posted on here I thought UGA was the front runner to get that game.

i hope this game is at home, there is know real need for us to go on the road and play a sub par UNC team, if it was at home i may be able to understand. It just seems excessive to have UNC and WVU the same year, but it would be some great media exposure

IF they are playing UNC then it is more than likely going to be in Atlanta (ACC-SEC kickoff challenge or whatever). I am personally all for it. It is great exposure for the program.

I know Mark Richt was less than pleased with this year's out-of-conference schedule (@ Ok State, vs Arizona State, and @ Ga Tech) so I wouldn't be surprised if he got in the ear of Damon Evans to try and get an easier OOC schedule for 2010. That could be what happened.
