Program is on a downward trajectory for 4 years & most any successful coach could stop the slide & reverse the trend.
Other than the obvious choices that probably aren’t likely to leave their current gigs, just go through the Top 25 teams & there will be several candidates.

So the 2017 is where we started going downhill?

18

That’s 4 if I’m counting correctly.

How was 19 a downward trend from 18?
Posted on 4/12/21 at 9:12 pm to josh336
I was just counting. Ask Ben McDonald who has made the same argument.

As much as 2018-2021 has sucked, that year is a slight upward trajectory

2017
CWS runner up
SEC Champ
SEC Tourney Champ
2018
Regional
2019
Super Regional
2020
Cancelled
Saying he should have been fired 4 years ago is pretty dumb
& 2019 was better than 2018

Marginally. One game overall. A couple sec games. 2-2 regional vs 0-2 super. 2020 was worse than both. This year is somehow worse than last year.

2020 was going to be worse than 18 and 19. You won’t be able to convince anyone differently. We were bad.

The overall record and SEC record including the tournament was just one game different. Same with post season. 2-2 in 2018. 3-2 in 2019. These teams were very similar. 2018 had a better sect record at 4-2. We were 3-2 in 2019.

Marceaux’s record this year is a testament to what shite hitting can do for good pitching. We had already been no hit last year and hadn’t even gotten to SEC play yet.

For sure, but i think we wouldve been close to 15-15 with marceaux, labas, and henry and having hill and fontenot and beck in the peN. But obviously there are variables there we wouldnt know

I think Milazzo got some looks in the middle of the order. Holy Toledo.

15-15 was the ceiling imo. I believe I said that to you earlier this year. 12-18 was more realistic imo.

Last year is so vague to me. I'll never forget the Oklahoma game. And, I remember having a little bit of momentum heading to Oxford, knowing full well we were about to get whipped.

I had a great time in Houston till that game.
