He said that last week was our last at #1. He knew they would jump us with OSU to keep us away from Bama in Rd. 1. I don't think this is a crazy conspiracy, I think it's a legit angle.

I don't look at it as if he called it so much, but more of hoping for and talking it up just like some of his buddies.

I think they believe we will win our last 2 and Bama will wins their last game. If you wait for that to play out, it would be MUCH more suspect. If they believe it will play out like that, now is the perfect time to do it imo.

No they're not! Bama not getting in as long as the top 3 win out and there is a 1-loss conference champion (Utah, OU, Baylor).

How are people so stupid that they think Bama is in the playoffs over a 1 loss pac 12 champ and a one loss big 12 champ? Are some of you just ignoring every other conference?

The committee's already planning out potential semifinal games at this point. They know Alabama has a legit shot at #4 - they don't want that rematch then. What better week to make the change than when Ohio St. beat Penn St. and LSU beat one of the worst P5 teams?
I fully believe if Oklahoma or Utah makes it to #4, you'll see LSU at #1 at the end after beating Georgia.

Having a committee vs computers means they get to select the 4 best teams in the country and If they stay true to that, Bama will go in. I doubt they'll lose much sleep over hurting the PAC-12's feelings.

First off, I think a Pac 12 Champ Utah or a Big 12 Champ Oklahoma jumps Alabama. I really do. I’m not so sure Alabama will even beat Auburn, but should they do, I expect a very close game.
That said, should we win out (and Ohio State), beating Texas A&M and #4 Georgia, in Atlanta, convincingly, I don’t see how we won’t be bumped back up to #1.

That ain't '12! Did you see the ratings for the game this year? It won't be as highly viewed w/o Tua but still a ratings bonanza!
