AFTER Spurrier retired from South carolina he was still trying to get the LSU job. Seriously. We hired Orgeron instead. The president at LSU had been at Florida.

58-3 & he's throwing deep all the way to the end of the game. He took this same approach to a game thru out his SEC career. But................his last game, in T.S , LSU was up 51-something & a LSU RB with 15 + seconds left broke free for a 20+ yard race to the endzone. I was screaming for him to get out of bounds as he wasn't going to score & I wanted to stop the clock to give us one more shot at 58. He didn't & the clock ran out, at 51. That was his last college game, he quit the next week. So his last game LSU hung 51 on his arse.
