I know, your favorite. But he’s right.

“Nick Saban is the only coach in the last 80 years to win the national championship without winning his division. That dog’s not gonna hunt this time around.”

Goes on to say if LSU loses they still have a shot. But if Bama loses, it’s over. Will the playoff committee see it this way? Eh, we’ll see. But I absolutely agree with Pawl here.

Let’s shut this shite down once and for all.

They don't... See 2011 vs LSU and 2017 vs Auburn.

He's right. Bama pads their schedule with weak arse teams so they put up big number and look better than they really are.

The playoff committee knows this and recognizes our defeating multiple top 10 teams as a reason for us to go ahead of them

It's called window dressing. In this case, the situation matches the window dressing intent.

He knows that this is a "down" year. Thus, he can be hard on his beloved Gumps with valid justification to show the world that he is not always a Gump Homer.

Again, what he is saying is valid, but some don't see how these media guys seek to manage their big picture homerism.

I typically try and avoid any and all noises emanating from ESPN minus live games. But, I had it on the other day in the background and heard some discussion about the game. I was kind of shocked to hear the whole panel (I don't know who they were) agree that Bama's weak schedule means they have to win this game to have a reasonable shot at the playoffs, with or without Tua. We as LSU fans know all too well how a media narrative can set the tone for a team's chances. I found this kind of encouraging. Now the team needs to go take care of business.

It will absolutely hunt. He's full of shite. No one else with one loss will be ranked higher and OU shite the bed against Kansas fricking State. Badly.

There is only one way I would EVER hope for an LSU loss:

LSU beats Bama this weekend

At the SECCG, things have worked out such that Bama goes to playoff if LSU wins SECCG by handing UGA a 2nd loss

If LSU loses to UGA, both UGA and LSU go the playoff.

I'd like LSU to be up by 5 with seconds left and UGA with ball on the UGA 10 yd line...LSU just moves out the way and lets UGA run for a 90 yd TD

Bama is going down to Auburn so yes if LSU wins they are out.

I've been saying this for a while. If BAMA does not win this weekend, their best win is over a, probably, 4 loss Auburn team. If they get in with that, then I have no respect for the CFP committee.

LOL. He's told to say that to hype the game.

That's all.

We all know if Bama loses, he will be one of the first ones justifying them sitting at home again and backing their way into a playoff.

That gives Bama a much bigger benefit than the other three teams that will undoubtedly be winning an extra game against a top 10 opponent.

I think the key is whether or not Oregon wins out. If Oregon goes 11-1 despite a loss to an Auburn who will have lost to both LSU and Bama, I think the CFP committee puts them ahead of Bama (if Bama loses). Whereas, I think LSU gets in over that Oregon team (if LSU loses)

Valid point, but I'll bet a lot of people don't know Kirk Herbstreit played for Ohio St or that his sons play for Clemson.

The only ways Alabama is not going to the Playoffs are:

1. We blow them the frick out
2. They lose to us and Auburn
3. Penn State loses an extremely close game to Ohio State and backs in like Bama has done (or vice versa) and we beat them this weekend.
4. A one loss PAC 12 team wins the PAC 12 in impressive fashion and we beat Bama this weekend.
5. Baylor wins out and wins the Big 12 and we beat Bama this weekend.
6. Minnesota wins out and wins the B1G and we beat Bama this weekend.

The only ones that have any semblance of actually transpiring are 1 and 2. MAAAaaybe 4. Maybe.

But ultimately, Bama could absolutely back into the Playoffs yet again.

But as always, I close by saying "Alabama delende est."

So we should sacrifice the SEC title just so we wouldn't have to possibly face Bama again in the playoff?

No thanks!

I'm not clamouring for OU, but they lost by 1 score and KS is not a bad team
