All they had on Smart was "strong arse offer" which could mean anything.

Yeah, but let's be real, some kind of financial implication was involved. You wouldn't say that because you offered him immediate playing time.

We don’t know because the conversation was comparing Kentucky’s offer to Randolph Morris with the one they offered Smart. Again this whole this began when Wade was approached by the FBI to testify against Dawkins. When Dawkins lawyer found out he leaked statements taken out of context to Pat Forde to discredit Wade as a witness. People forget what started this and why the quotes were released the way they were.

I'm confused...you think he coached well at NC St, or you don't. You posted stats that he severely underperformed, but the said hes good.

Responding to you isn’t always worthy of one’s time, but I’ll entertain it.

The guy I’m debating claims WW is not a good coach, and one of his reasons why is that NCSU was projected 4th in conference, finished 7th. That’s a weak point IMO. Is Saban a bad coach for failing to win a NC or SEC title when Alabama was ranked #1 in the pre-season? Of course not. LOTS of teams don’t meet pre-season expectations based on paper. You can’t reasonably define a coach by one season or none would be good by the definition I’m seeing used.

Re: at NCSU. I never said he “severely” underachieved and don’t think the stats support that either. He was a first year coach at a program coming off a 12-19, 5-15 season. He went 20-14, 10-8. Not a bad season or no improvement. So you can both underachieve and be a good coach.

Lastly my reasoning that he is a good coach is simple and really foolish to dispute. (Remember, these (biased) clowns aren’t arguing he’s not a “great” coach, they’re arguing he’s not even a good coach.)

- in 12 seasons 266–119 (.691)
- NCAA teams 9 of 12 seasons
- 0 losing seasons
- 105–51 (.673), 55-33 in conference at LSU

You don’t do this if you’re not a good coach. Period.

Not true! It was because his girlfriend was at LSU! It’s undefeated!
