The Ford hit was a legitimate big hit. Once hit, there was nothing much he could have done about it. Lee on the other hand literally handed the ball to the other team the second time.

I think the hit was basically a freak event. If Ford had not been turned around and off-balance, he would have held on to the ball.

These things happen, I don't think it's typical of his ability to hold onto the ball.

Why does it bother you someone thinks JL is better? It wouldn't be a insane thought.

It really isn't that though. The problem is the people that believe in some conspiracy that Les hates Lee and is disrespecting him and how he deserves to play. That kind of talk is ridiculous.

We would have liked to get Lee into the game earlier. The issue for me is that we would like to have victory secured

Interesting quote. Les can't honestly believe Lee would have given up victory, based on what transpired through 8 games to start the season.

I think perhaps you misunderstand what he means.

He may mean that his priority is to secure victory. The starters play until victory is secured. There are no other considerations prior to that point in time.

After that point in time, other considerations can be entertained, like playing the backups.

I understand what he is saying. Its still strikes me as strange statement.

Was victory assured in every game JJ came into as the backup earlier this season?

I love me some Lespeak.
He tells you what he wants and then sits back and laughs at all the "experts" trying to read things into his message.

Academic issues are certainly very private in my mind. Our guys go through a series of midterms, finals and papers. The overview is something that each guy has and certainly I have of the team. That is not something I am going to share.

Translation: Lee's failing something.

Miles has a strange philosophy. Lee turns the ball over twice (terrible) and Miles makes the switch and keeps Lee on the bench. Ford fumble sixes to give Arkansas a 2 touchdown lead? Meh, I guess we don't have the running backs to put Ford on the bench.

Lee's turnovers were the result of a shocking mental breakdown. Ford's recent turnover was a fluke occurring when a defender came out of nowhere and knocked the ball out with his helmet. The coaches looked at that and determined that it was a no fault turnover. The coaches reacted appropriately to Lee's turnovers and to Ford's.
