Finally got to watch the Spring Game video ref QBs

Well, I have this to say. Thank the heavens that our QBs get more practice before game 1. I saw very little in the video that wouldn't concern me if we were closer to game 1.
Jennings' pocket presence is awfully similar to JJs(in that he has none). The guy just seems unable to anticipate where the rush is coming from and no, the kid is NOT "dual threat". Assuming he ever gets solid at passing, that will make him a single threat with perhaps enough speed that he might run a tiny bit. But his passing has a LONG way to go which is disappointing because I guess we all let that Arky game give us a false sense. He just does not throw a pretty ball.
Harris has the exact opposite pocket presence as Jennings in that he actually seems to be legit as a threat on the ground and has that QB "feel" for when to get on the move. He also throws a substantially prettier ball than Jennings although sadly, at this point, it's a prettier ball that's actually MORE likely to miss its mark than Jennings.
Given a choice between the two based upon what I saw, Harris looks like he's got more for a coach to work with. When it comes to teaching things, there are some things that are harder to teach than others. IE, just as some RBs just seem to have "vision" that you really can't teach, some QBs are that way in the pocket. I've just rarely seen a guy with the shaky pocket awareness of Jennings get a lot better at it. That just seems to be an innate skill.
Frankly, as shaky as he looks, I'm very much hoping that if Harris is the man, that Rettig be a solid backup because right now, if Harris got hurt, I just wouldn't be comfortable with what I'm seeing from Jennings. If Rettig is actually behind Jennings, then we are nowhere near as deep at QB as I thought we were going into spring.

"I'm judging a true Fresh QB, A True Soph QB, and a RS Fresh QB on a spring game that means diddly shite compared to the closed spring scrimmage the weekend before"

I've nothing against Jennings(I know his dad). But, at this point, he really has a LOT of improving to do throwing the ball which wouldn't be so bad except despite the stupid stereotypes out there, he's NOT really much of a threat with his feet.
Harris on the other hand passes the eyeball test when you see him throw until you see where the ball lands.
Those things are simply two REALITIES as of this point in spring. Hopefully, they'll get solved, but, the point is, they need to be solved and I think Harris' problems are more solvable.

To be fair Mett's pocket awareness his junior year was pretty awful. He showed substantial improvement his senior year even though it still wasn't the greatest.

For the 2 people that down voted look at what happened on the field. AJ is not the clear no.1 at qb, Harris is right with him anf if he is right with him he should start cause Jennings has had true game experience and Harris has not. And also he has had a year in the play book also he should have been lightyears ahead of Harris.

What you people fail to understand is that there already 30 threads about the QBs that all say the goddamn same thing. We don't need a new thread every hour featuring every average Joe's pro analysis.

Oh how wrong you are!

This is the most realistic answer and most likely to happen. Jennings starts game one. If he does well..he will stay a bit longer. But at some point (could even be the first or second game), Harris will not only be sharing snaps, but likely take them over.
I see Harris in goal line situations immediately. And look for him to eventually take over. He just has a higher ceiling and better skill set.
This is most likely the truth wether people want to believe it or not.

I 100% agree that the pocket presence of Jennings is severely worrisome.

I love the argument that the spring game is just practice as a defense for poor play or to wet blanket good play.
That said, Harris climbed the pocket and Jennings did not. IMO this year comes down to getting the most out of scrambles on pass plays and providing an additional runner for the D to worry about on read option.

Not if he keeps turning the ball over in practice and floating passes. The coaches aren't dumb.
