The field looks a lot better today than it has in recent years.
Just wait until October. We will be back on green sand.

With the troubles we had in 06, they finally said fock it and went with turf. I wasn't thrilled at first, but it really does look pretty nice.
(FWIW, this is what it used to look like)

it's all about branding my friend. That new logo is flat out intimidating. Looks like he is lunging right at you.
Obviously we are intimidated by different things. Seems to me that the new Logo is less "lunging" than looking for a hug.

I would also put the new Mike logo on the helmet to standardize the brand a little better.
I'm sorry but, no one needs to mess the the helmet, its fine the way it is

field turf makes a lot of sense and therefore i'm not surprised a lot of fans are totally opposed

I know field turf is supposed to be better than the old artificial surfaces, but it's still got to be hotter than 9 hells playing on that stuff.

oh, you dont get to paint sidelines, yard markers or endzones on turf? Nice.

i agree with having field turf, right now the mud/sand pit that is there towards the end of the season sucks

I wouldn't mind seeing field turf with the new Mike logo at midfield in place of the tiger eye. I would also put the new Mike logo on the helmet to standardize the brand a little better.

What most people don't realize is that Field Turf is actually considerably more expensive over time. You have to replace the field turf every 7 - 10 years. Just ask the high schools in our area. The useful life is about 8 years. The primary reason that people use field turf is not to save money, but to use for multi-purposes activities, like soccer, band contests, etc. Since Tiger stadium does not have multi-purposes, the cost of field turf would be significantly higher over a 10 year time frame. Example - initial installation: $1M+ and little to no dollars for annual maintenance for field turf versus $100k for full sod grass and $50 - $75k per year for maintenance of the natural grass. If you were just looking at costs, stay with natural grass. Personally, I like the natural grass anyway, but I am a traditionalist.

I like natural grass too, but let's face it by the end of the year the grass at TS looks like shite. Every single fricking year. Either fire the grounds crew, install new drainage/watering, or something.

You have to completely replace it?

yep
And every year we hear how they have fixed the issue or how LSU has hired the guru of grass. I am tired of seeing the shite turf at TS.

I guess fake is what it's all about now.
Keep on and you guys will be able to f up Tiger Stadium to the point where it will be like any other fake arse stadium in the country. Why don't you fake people run on down to N.O. and become a Fulane Tan.

Let me dumb it down a shade:
1) LSU recruits as well as anyone in the nation
2) By virtue of this, LSU has a lot of speed
3) Having to play on soggy, clumpy, shitty fields late in the season negates speed during the most crucial part of the year
4) Having field turf does not
yurp durp durp
