So if they rush the field next year or two years from now it’s $500,000 each time.

finally found the exact verbiage of the rule and how we ended up at this being a 2nd offense.

this particular rule was implemented June 1, 2023

quote:

Effective immediately, each school will reset to the beginning of a fresh penalty cycle.

So as of June 1, 2023 all schools were at 0 offenses.

quote:

The penalty also shall reset if an institution is free from a violation in all sports for a consecutive four-year period.

so just need to make it until October 2028 now.

I would just love to know how the SEC proposes that LSU stop 100,000 from storming the field? If they REALLY want to do it, only an electic fence would stop them, and you can't have that happen.

I don’t like it going to the other team, but F it, let the kids storm when we have a win/game like that. Thats small money and the ROI via pub and coverage of the win and field storming surely indirectly offsets it to some extent.

I get the fine but what is the reasoning behind giving the money to the opponent? Why reward the opponent?

Put the money is some kind of fund such as a scholarship fund or research fund or a fund to help something where there is a real need
