he is throwing BP now. Talk about some fat pitches he's serving up
That. He laid up a bunch of 80ish fastballs with no movement high in the zone tonight. Other recent outings have not been much different. The field bails him out with good plays on balls hit.

I'd put Berry over Broussard, but its close. I also think either Peterson or Rumblelow will get better down the stretch

One thing is for sure, our staff as a whole has upgraded this year.

we'll see, ive seen berry get shelled by too many sun belt teams to trust him yet.
i like broussard cause he can miss bats. but his walks are a concern, like Eades

Yeah, he definitely has the strikeout ability. He could end up being a really good reliever for us. A possible Bertucinni with the ability to go a few innings.

For sure.
ETA: The coaches see a lot of potential in Jones too. HIs last 2 starts have been abysmal, but they really like him. As we know, he was slated to be a weekend starter until the chip/powerade incident. Believe it or not, had he pitched well in the Sunday Princeton game, he was going to start the Friday CSF game. Hopefully he'll get his act together soon.

Any chance that Forrest Garrett gets some innings this year....or will the injury force him to miss the season?

Oh I believe it. Before the season I'd have guessed their 3 favorites were Jones, Gausman, and Eades, McCune surprised them.

According to the coach I spoke with, FG has been making progress and is throwing in practice without any problems. Since he's been out so long they don't expect to throw him in any meaningful situations yet. But they do expect him to pitch. Had we had a big lead against Nicholls, they might have given him a shot. It sounded to me that they expect him to pitch this year, but they aren't sure what they are going to get.

Good info. Thanks
